He probably just counted deaths, pretty sure there were thousands others who became wounded.

I might be wrong but I'm pretty sure U.S. losses were much worse than 800. About 2,400 were killed between the Rangers, 1st, and 29th Infantry Divisions.

The numbers given by Kermit are just those for Omaha. Allied casualties across the 5 beaches were around 6,500 with the total allied casualty figure for the first day of Overlord exceeding 10,000. That said, other than the questionable casualties figures given in the video, it's still pretty good. Gives a nice bite sized summery of the events of the day.
