Great analysis, Antonio. Fascinating that almost the entire game revolved around that weak backwards pawn. And I guess it was a good lesson in terms of realizing how lost tempo could come back to haunt you. White playing rook to a3 and back to a1 seriously looks a bit odd. Thanks for the game :)

Because I just googled, both of them are now Grandmasters and Alireza Firouzja FIDE rating september 2018 is 2582 a bit more than Pragnanandaa at 2519, but on youtube, I think Alireza’s game is less covered than Pragnanandhaa .... but anyway .... your youtube channel is one of the best .... even though I am a very bad in game of chess, I always enjoy chess since my childhood, and your channel is one of the best 👍

Can somebody please explain why Babu had to resign? This could have been a draw isn't it? Whatever black plays, I can bring my king to g4 and that would prevent the black pawn anyway. f7 would be attacked by e4 as well.

Carlsen said he thinks Alireza is a better chess player than Pragg, exactly why he said that though I'm not sure, but after watching this game I see he was right.
@freddymars2014
@freddymars2014 5 жыл бұрын
Maybe Carlsen saw Pragg took too many risks or made unnecessary moves? Not sure, I'm not a GM, but in this game it looked like he didn't protect his king much, but maybe he had a plan I don't know.

hello :) Rook a3? what about push the c pawn and rook to h3 -> and push h pawn and capture with queen on h5 threatening capture on h7? you just have to get the dark bishop out of the way XD
@mozisi
@mozisi 6 жыл бұрын
Haha.. you're right. If only that darn dark square bishop was somewhere else. Thing is after Qe6, you can't even capture the knight thereby moving that dreaded bishop out of the way. But I liked your approach to salvage something :D. Kinda ironic that his own bishop is blocking his attack. Spotted well XD

At 6:34 would Rxd5 be a good idea? It comes with a tempo on the Queen, and it removes a defender of the knight

Horrible move. Black captures rook, QxD5. If you use white pawn to capture queen on D5, then black captures white queen with RxE1. So white loses a rook and a queen for a queen and a pawn. Tempo handed to black is another matter.
