Every met I’ve met say blue Buffalo is horrible, and they get tons of recalls, essentially recommended I don’t feed my dog that but now I’m confused lol I currently feed wholehearted salmon and pea (grain free) because grained Based one’s bother her skin… but not sure if I should switch?!

Would the life protection formula be okay to give my puppy since it’s not grain free. My cat has been on blue buffalo for 9 years and with no issues. But I recently came across the FDA article for heart issues

I’ve not looked at it specifically against puppy standards so you will need to reference the chart for puppy against the food. I wouldn’t worry about the cat with grain free but I would be cautious with excess protein minerals in many of their formulas.

Diamond Naturals is exelent food for the price, plus Stockton CA the plant I see every day on my way to work and home makes me proud of product San Joaquin County. Its quality compaired to Ol Roy what works too but ya Thank you Dr. Rae appricate you.

PS! This is tricky… Blue Buffalo’s website says they do feeding trials and then start talking about WASAVA and AAFCO. But if it doesn’t say it on the bag, they haven’t actually done the AAFCO testing? Is that for other testing then?

This was one of my first videos and I wasn’t doing those conversions at the time but if it’s really close I’d do the conversion, if it’s several percent off it won’t make much difference. You can always do conversion to be sure

Most likely, you would have to call for clarification. It means they either feeding trialed a single bag and can’t say it across the board, or they did their own version of feeding trialing that does t meet AAFCO standards so they can’t list it on the AAFCO statement because that’s a legal statement and must be accurate

Do you mean food allergy, if so I recommend a prescription diet, no otc diets will be sufficient and these diets should be fed on the direction of the vet treating your pet because prescribed diets not only treat, but also are used as a diagnostic tool. Thanks for watching!

Anything labeled "grain free" should be avoided due to ongoing research and links to DCM. I wouldn't avoid something just because it has peas as an ingredient as long as there are other grains to balance it out.

I don’t really focus too much on pricing, I do mention it usually in my videos but overtime prices change. Your going to have to use the parameters we discuss and find a bag in your budget and see what fits.

I used to feed Pro Plan but it just got too expensive. Now I feed Diamond Naturals Chicken and Rice. I try to do the best I can afford and so far Diamond has been working OK. They like it and they have good poops. Important to dog owners.

Hello! I’d appreciate some help finding the ideal puppy food for my current- 4 month old GSD! Where did you find the nutritional ranges? What should I look for in a growth formula for large breed puppies? Any brands in particular I should avoid? so far, I’ve tried Stella & Chewys Puppy Recipe, then switched to Taste of the Wild Pacific Stream for puppies and am just now switching to Blue Buffalo Puppy recipe for Large Breeds. To keep it simple, you are exactly correct. Grain Free should be a no go.

Plants and grains don't have taurine. Taurine is only found in animal muscle meat. Cats need about 100 mg per day. My cats eat 4 oz of chicken thighs, 220 mg of taurine, twice a day. I go around on this, with vegan cat feeders all the time.

Ok this Chanel I try not to make any specific recommendations because every pet to has unique circumstances. I encourage you to read the AAFCO statements, avoid marketing traps, and feed the correct daily calories. Avoid diets marketed as all life stages and try and find a food that underwent a feeding trial. Of course it should fall in the recommended range for parameters in the guaranteed analysis as well.

My favorite foods for puppies are science diet puppy or Purina pro plan puppy, then transition to adult at about 9 months. These brands are the only few that do feeding trials to substantiate their claims.

Next time you do a Battle of brands pick 2 brands with same Meat proteins & similar Ingredients, because the battle isn't fair. You've picked Blue Bufflo-Chicken & Diamond Natural-Beef you know beef is higher in bone then Chicken, Chicken is a cleaner meat then Beef. So the Calcium & Phosphorus is always higher in reat meats as theyre from larger boned animals.. Maybe do a more honest review next time.. Compare kibble brands with same meat protiens & similar ingredients..

The video was from 4 years ago and was the first food video I ever did. I now use the pss scoring system so all foods are analyzed on the same scale.all my reviews are honest because I use numbers, not emotions. the food is what it is and provides a nutrient profile that is either ideal or not, irregardless if ingredients are the same. Nutrients are what matter. If the minerals are excessive they are excessive.
