The real winner for me was the Voluum! As you say, almost as good sounding as the cali76, MIDI, tremolo, volume pedal of course? Awesome. Cheap too, compared to the others. I was super underwhelmed by the Jackson. Also, Joey Landreth has stopped using a compressor as of a few years ago. On the other hand he has a guitar set up for slide with very thick gauge strings, etc. I still like a compressor for slide. Thanks for the video!

My Bloom V2 and my expression pedal occupy the same side of my pedal board. I was a long time supporter of Sonuus...Wahoo and those little MIDI-converters. Your vid has compelled me to make some changes...the "Voluum" could take the place of: my expression pedal, my compressor, my tremolo and my knock off "Slow Gear". ps:: maybe its time to clean the neck of that Strat?

thx ☺ ... I was wishing for an updated M5 for a long time, the HX One seems cool, but a but overpriced (2.5 times the M5 in Europe; 1.5 would seem more appropriate). I still might get one at some point, but right now, I already own an HX Stomp and a H9, battling which one will replace the M5 on my future board ...

The origin has a buffered bypass that you can't turn off, which annoyed me so much I almost got rid of it for that. I spent aged trying to work out why my fuzzes weren't working. Not a bad buffer by the way, and I like buffers in the right place.I have the deluxe -A really nice pedal. I still look venomously at it and yearn to replace it.I like the richness when it's pushed hard, and parallel can yield transparency with sustain. The sonuus I found noisy and the attack was abrupt and smacky at high ratios, though you can set it really gentle. Also, you are reliant on software for editing, unless you are really long-suffering, and that is not always reliable. It was a long time being updated, and I have discovered a bug. The swell is a bit smacky too. Does interesting things though. In the demo, you'd be hard pressed to pick between them blind, which surprised me, except the bloom which occasionally didn't catch the front of the note.

I like to run my compressors post-drives, and put them in loop switcher loops anyway, so the Cali’s buffered bypass is not a problem for me. Not sure about the Bloom v1, but both Bloom v2 and Sonuus Voluum offer the choice of either true or buffered bypass.

Here, the Cali offers the most clarity and musicality imho. I've had the big box and deluxe versions. I've since been using a CS-2 as I find it works best for my uses, Strat+AC30.

I have a very different prices. I can buy jackson audio bloom v2 for 250$ approximately and cali76 about 430$.

@@egor1g Just double checked again; Bloom v2 is 359 € everywhere in Germany, Cali Stacked is at 379 € regular price, but some large online stores sell it for 361 € to 363 €. Only one of the larger stores seems to have the Voluum in stock, 248 €.

@@TheGuacamoleXplosion Sadly enough I'm from Russia and besides having a Putin problem, we also have some very unusual prices for pedals. Some of them cost cheaper than in the world, some much higher. So Bloom v2 is 286$, Cali76 - 529$. Should I pull the trigger on Bloom then? :)

I sold the Yellow Comp when I got the Voluum. Like the Bloom in this vid, the Yellow Comp (also an optical compressor, based on the Diamond Compressor) had a nice spongy feel, and like the Bloom, it coloured the tone quite a bit (but cut less treble than the Bloom). The VCA compressor on the Voluum worked better for me. The Line6 Boost Comp model is really cool, but I prefer to keep my basic tone analog; still, I would not hesitate to use it on stage if my analog compressor dropped out.
