20 cm (8") High-end full-range loudspeaker. These high-end speakers stand out because of their high degree of sensitivity and extremely well-balanced frequency response free of noticeable deviations. This is achieved by using a very light-weight paper cone, a fabric surround and an optimised driver equipped with a 25 mm voice coil (aluminium wire) which makes optimum use of the magnetic field in the air gap. The capton voice coil carrier is vented. The sturdy aluminium diecast basket is not only optically appealing but, thanks to its rear-venting openings, ensures that physical losses are minimised. Distortion is suppressed to a very low, uniform level.
The B 200 is ideally suited to use in high-quality, powerful single-band speakers, where the cabinet design need not be restricted to classic, fully enclosed or vented cabinets, but more exotic alternatives like horns or open baffles can be used to create amazing results.

The B 200 - 6 Ohm was fitted in a narrow column speaker with a net volume of around 100 litres. Due to the high Q-factor, one would normally have a relatively strong increase in reverberation response at around 60 Hz in a normal enclosed chamber or bass reflex cabinet. To prevent this, and indeed to take full advantage of the bass reflex principle, we thought up this little arrangement which, to our knowledge, has not been done before.
The chamber is split into two equal parts by a separator. On the rear wall, we built a vertical tunnel as a Helmholtz resonator which was tuned exactly to the frequency of the increase. This tunnel was then loosely filled with a packing of wool. In its undamped state, this resonator absorbs just the amount of the increase and even causes a slight dip in this range. You can vary the amount of packing used to achieve the required frequency response. In this way, we managed to ensure that the bass reflex did not produce overpowering bass despite the bass reflex tuning.
In keeping with the frequency response so typical of wide-range speakers with increasing medium- and top-range frequencies, this speaker, too, has an unacceptably high-pitched sound. So we applied a passive correction circuit (five simple components) to smooth off the frequency response in a very simple but effective manner for a full-range loudspeaker. Depending on the acoustics in the room and personal preference, the 15 ohm series resistance can be changed. Reducing it to 10 ohms will result in an increase in the high-frequency range, while increasing it to 22 ohms will dampen the treble more effectively.

Guess will have to buy the B 200 just to try...:) The high frequencies sound delicate and well resolved and the bass is very reasonable. The two way sounds muffled in treble and also in midrange in comparison.

Exactly , sounds like it looks . Im building amps , and it sounds exactly like it looks . No joke , things tend to sound like they look . Im building Tube amps , so if you take a look at output stage Transformer . It sound like it looks , bigger better ones have better bass , while smaller ones have tighter sound but lower bass . So everything is a compromise , you cant get it all . There is an argument in using certain stuff even tho it might be technically inferior . Like Tube amps vs solid state . ITs about again same difference . Do you want precise or nice sounding easy sound .

Again I think a balance between the two would be better to my ears, at least over KZbin. SOLO 100 sound too high with higher frequencies and the TW 70 is too muted on the higher frequencies. As I said though, over KZbin it's difficult to say. 👍👍👍

Need to work on a crossover to your liking. You can add or reduce high frequencies in both versions.

Again I think a balance between the two would be better to my ears, at least over KZbin. SOLO 100 sound too high with higher frequencies and the TW 70 is too muted on the higher frequencies. As I said though, over KZbin it's difficult to say. 👍👍👍
