We enjoyed watching these two Dung Beetles battling it out over a highly prized ball of dung in the Kruger National Park.
During the summer months in the bush, there is always a lot of Dung Beetle activity at fresh elephant dung. These Dung Beetles create balls in which they will lay their eggs. They roll them away until they find a suitable place where they will dig a hole to place the ball into. The larvae will feed on the dung once they hatch.
It is hard work for these tiny, very determined insects!
