Interesting is Zach does play good the diamonds, not the hearts as most would try with automatically. I suppose he plans, if diamonds dont behave, he can always try with the heart finesse as his last resort.... Bidding spades (1NT-2C, 2H-2SP) is because they play with four suit transfers. As is common in 2/1 and some other systems. Playing common basic Sayc, the bidding would go: 1NT (yes upgraded to a very good 15p; 3 aces, a decent 5cards suit, 2 tens) - 2C, 2H - 2NT - some would pass, a daredevil or a good declarer would bid 3NT...
