I’m with you Mandy. Why did we take what is supposed to be a relaxing hobby and turn into a stressful one?

I really do enjoy, and prefer, a peaceful puzzle session, but soon I do plan to give speed puzzling a try. The thought of it puts me on edge, but I feel like it's good to get out of your comfort zone every once and awhile and try something new. I probably won't enjoy it, but I can see how some might enjoy the thrill of the competitive aspects from that kind of challenge.

Hi Mandy. Thank you for making another great video about, well, slow puzzling. We do admire the fast competition puzzling and the fantastic people who participate in it. However we are slow puzzlers ourselves ( like, really slow, days go by). In part as we started only in March this year. We have learnt through your videos (and Ric’s), heaps of advice and tricks. So, from Melbourne Australia as always happy puzzling Mandy and stay warm as we try to stay cool ha!

Yes, those speeders are really amazing, and even though I prefer slow puzzling, they've motivated me to try speed puzzling at some point. I'm so happy to hear that you've been able to learn from us! That's what motivates us to keep doing what we do. Thank you!

Thank you for the video! I love how you do voiceovers that talk us through your puzzling experience. For buffalo games puzzles, I always wonder if people have a copy made in the USA or a copy made in China. I noticed that china copies tend to have a quality that is less enjoyable. Where was your copy made?

Thank you so much! That's a good point. I just looked at my box and it says made in USA. I didn't realize that some copies were made in China though. I need to make it a point of checking next time.

Love your video. I'm a Charles Wysocki fan myself. My local Meijers had puzzles buy 2 get one free. I couldn't resist and got three Buffalo Wysocki puzzles. Went to the store for groceries and strayed to the toy dept. 😊

It's so hard to concentrate on just the food shop when your store has a puzzle section 😂. I remember my supermarket used to carry a pretty good selection of sets, but now they only have ONE set. Sad, but then again, it's much better for my budget LOL.

Considering this is a used puzzle, the "quality" may have been affected by the way the puzzle was stored. The section you pointed out seemed to have warped pieces. Maybe humidity got to it somewhere along the line. If this is casual puzzling, then I'm a snail puzzler, lol. I work on it a few hours here and there and I takes lots of breaks and play on the internet at the same time. I've been tempted by this puzzle many times, but have always picked another Wysocki over this one. No idea why. Maybe subconsciously, the sky and mountain part told me to avoid it, lol.
@thepuzzledmandy
@thepuzzledmandy 11 ай бұрын
I did have those thoughts afterwards about the quality, and how it may have been because of the storage conditions. Honestly, I was happy that all the pieces were there! It always takes me several days to compete a puzzle this big, and I get interrupted numerous times. 😂

If I may ask Mandy, how big is the jigsaw board/table you use? What do you use if your jigsaw is larger than the board you use? Where can i buy a board and how much do they usually cost, pls? Thanks :-) Nice puzzle btw

My puzzle table has 35 inches by 25 inches of usable puzzle space. I haven't quite figured out a solution for bigger puzzles, but I'm currently testing/reviewing a foldable puzzle mat that has slightly more usable space to puzzle on. My table was from Amazon, and I think it was around $100 USD. The short legs fold in so that I can store it.

Something I would have liked to try myself but getting Buffalo puzzles in the UK can be tricky. There is one of Pete's Gambling Hall but at £28 that is expensive. 1000 piece puzzles in the UK are around £15 to £16. I'm not a speed puzzler, I like to go at snails pace. 🐌By the way could you tell me what brand your timer is please? It looks like a good one with easy to see numbers. Look forward to your next video.
@thepuzzledmandy
@thepuzzledmandy 11 ай бұрын
28 is very expensive for that set. I believe it may not be in production anymore, so that could be why they are pricier. I bought my timer on Amazon, Samshow Timer. I've just put a link my this video description that will take you right to it. I would post it in this comment but I have a feeling KZbin will block it.

Well I sat down at my desk for lunch and there you are lol.. I finished Pete's Hall and enjoyed the image, I also struggled with the mountains.. I tried to time myself but it seemed I struggled to remember to set the timer, I seem to be interrupted when I puzzle---- I finished it in three evenings, so I'm guessing my time was like you 6-7 hours.... I enjoyed doing the same image with others and seeing how each one tackles the puzzles. I usually do the hard parts first then finish with the fun buildings, signs.....yes I hope you do this again... see ya next week....

Hope you had a good lunch! You got me thinking about my lunch with my girl from earlier, which was pizza and hot dog from Sam's Club...and we took advantage of their all their food samples😂 I was so on top and careful with my timer, and of course I had to screw it up right at the very last seconds 🤣ugh, to be honest I was surprised I didn't screw it up sooner. I agree, it was very interesting seeing how others tackled the same image.
