True Skate is intended as a simulator, so that's why it's so difficult to learn. The most overlooked advantage of True Skate though is style, you can execute a kick flip (and other tricks) various different ways since it's not just a pre-rendered animation. Very few games capture this. The obvious advantage is realism, you can execute tricks using similar patterns that you would with your feet in real life. You also aren't limited to the trick library added to the game, you can venture beyond the list of included animations and swipe patterns since True Skate offers full real-time control over the board. You can invent tricks not even thought of by the developers if you really want to. Also, while quad 1080 dolphins aren't realistic, it is realistic to kick your board from under your feet and make it spin in a bunch of random directions, only difference is the act of landing back onto the board isn't simulated. As for cost, most peoples lunches cost more, and even if you buy everything it would still be cheaper than most console games. You also can't run out of things to do since the limiting factor is imagination, not a career mode or finite number of tricks. the game is still being developed too... idk, just some random points. I'm obviously biased.

People usually prefer true skate because it is more challenging. But most video players often do not know in advance what tricks they will do. They often try to swipe hard to get more flips, and if it doesn't feel right, they hold the board. They often get rocket flips, they can even do 360 quara flips before they can do a perfect kick flip, which is impractical. Anyway if someone master true skate it will be much more interesting than touchgrind.

Honestly, I wouldn’t compare them. True skate feels a lot more like a real skateboard, and touchgrind skate feels more like a virtual fingerboard. With a real skateboard you actually need to stroke your foot on the ground to move, same with true skate. When fingerboarding you can just move your hand, and it just automatically accelerates the board in touchgrind. Comparing the two games is like comparing skateboarding and fingerboarding.

true skate: Very easy to control and very easy to land tricks but takes time to master and tricks are not that consistent. Touchgrind: Hard to control but the tricks are very consistent and actually easy to land In my personal opinion, both are great but I recommend true skate because it is easy to land tricks, very fun, has different events, exciting updates, has more settings and more feature.

For me True Skate is tapping and sliding your finger like crazy to do an ollie. It's too hard. I may like Touchgrind Skate 2 more cuz it's easier. But graphics are much much better and detailed in True Skate. I think that's a tie.

simulator that counts every you do as a trick and is more expensive for parks if you include bundles in touchgrind, but has more customizable options, (that's also for money) vs. a free to start game that still needs patches (but they're working on it) and needs more custom options for custom boards and needs to copy true skates grind system because it's more satisfying and needs leaderboards (and another catchy menu theme or more music, the same menu theme is forever engraved into mt brain)
