Though it's been a while since the last threatening evil team; Team Skull and the Aether Foundation didn't pose a big direct threat to you or the region and gen 8s teams didn't do much to get in your way.

They were never really the bad guys when you actually frame things more fully in the fact they're nothing more than a cheerleading squad. On my second playthrough, I took that and the fact that Macro Cosmos were the real villains into mind. It's really kind of obvious. The Yell numbskulls only ever were in *your* way in particular. It's implied that they're in the way of the other competitors, but you only ever see Hop getting harassed by them. And that's only when you're nearby. Pan over to Macro Cosmos. Rose *looks* innocent, and Oleana actually looked like the villain. Bede was a little prick, but he was a pawn. He got something of a redemption, but he still had a tinge of being a cunt when it was all said and done. At the climax, you learn that Rose is a moron with no sense of what's actually urgent for the power "crisis" and Oleana was just an overzealous boot licker. Her team was actually pretty poetic: Five symbols of beauty and an avatar of her true colors. She tried to hide her bad past with superficial shit, but at the end of the day, her Garbodor shows that she really just has a garbage outlook on things and how it shapes her personality. Fast forward to Crown Tundra, and it shows that Rose - and, by extension, the rest of his family - really is more of a piece of shit than the main story let on. Peony isn't much brighter than his brother, I'd argue he's dumber, but he isn't malicious. He was a guy that was dealt a bad hand, and he really wanted to be a good father, but ended up smothering Peonia in overcompensation. It's 2AM, and my brain has gone smooth in the middle of this dissertation. Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

I remember when I began to create my own region almost 2 years ago - even before Sword and Shield was announced, and had plans about more important figures like League Representatives: Gym Leaders, Elite Four Members and Grand Champion One of the Gym Leaders was a grim male model - a Dark type specialist, who despite his negative attitude toward world, he had a kind heard and wasn't disrespecting anyone; evenmore - he deeply cared about people and Pokemon living in his city (even though he was aganist giving any autographs) By the attitude, Piers is very similiar - both: - are Dark type Gym Leaders of thier respectable regions - have "artistic" jobs - are grim - are caring, even if it doesn't look like that - are forminable opponents - have a fanbase (Team Yell/girls) - fight clean/fair-play - are quite undderated Quite... unexpectable, when I met Piers for the first time. The number of similarities was... huge I was thinking whether GameFreak stole my ideas or something :D (don't hate me on the last sentence; that was only a joke)
