F-84b is already really really good at 7.3, it's just that lots of people are new to jets at that BR so people turn fight in it and don't really know how to play it. It will be broken at 7.0 especially in full downtiers.

How do they not see the Hunter F6 at 10.3? Its a subsonic jet with no radar, no countermeasures, no afterburner, flies like a brick at low speeds, compresses at high speeds, and has a repair cost of 15k silver lions. At this BR even the SRAAMs are useless.

Because the fucked br compression had/still has harriers dump trucking shit like mig-15’s with sraams/aim-9G’s and everyone screamed that the sraams were the problem. And anyone that said “that the sraams weren’t the problem, the problem was the fact that a harrier was fighting a mig-15” got screamed at online until the british harriers ended with repair cost over 20K lions each and anything with sraams got an automatic 10.0 and because the hunter is slightly more capable than the harrier arguably is…it gets to enjoy fighting mig bis’s/27’s and phantoms with the same radar as an F-16. Because gaijin says fuck anyone that plays Britain.

Went from my main tree to a pain in the behind. Honestly, it feels like I'm more careful about my SL than actual money. And I'm in uni :)

Yup, hunters should've stayed at around 9.0 ish (8.7 might seems overpowered? Correct me if I'm wrong though). It is one of the fastest subsonic jets, but what's the use if you already have the harrier or that A-10 sitting on the same br as you. Gaijin didn't really like the minor tech tree like France or British I guess. In other words, we British players got neglected 💀

Around the time the Harrier came out or maybe just after, the hunter F6 dominated. 6 kill games were common and you never copped abuse for SRAAMs like the harrier. It's energy retention is way better, you can do a gentle turn and maintain over 1000kph where the harrier's speed just plumets

The F2H change is especially egregious. For what reason would a player pick the banshee over the A5 Sabre or Cougar? Its slow and bleeds energy. It has good turn and good guns, but the cougar has the same guns and sidewinders.

i mean it should be an indicator when the F2H2 is a straight wing jet with no missiles, while both the sabre and cougar are swept wing jets, and one has missiles. I get it that the F2H2 was the og seal clubbing jet but that doesn't mean it has to currently suffer.

@@sambowman2515 This is exactly what I did, and let me tell you, don't. Go the F-84 or F3D path. P-80's aren't really as much jets as they are prop planes with jet engines, and the first Canberra can't really defend nor attack anything. Naval tree does get much, much better tho Edit: When I wrote this, I forgot about the F-105 was added a while back. That's a fine plane and redeems the bomber line a lot. Though, it still doesn't make the B-57s, especially the B-57A, worth grinding for until you have better planes to grind them with.

A friend of mine decompressed jets. He could only get to 12.0 by decompressing jets. You might be able to make a 14.0 or 15.0 if you decompressed all the aircraft.

Anyways he based BRs off of objective capabilities. IE MLD at 12.0 can't match against the J35D or Mirage IIIs, but can match F4Es and 21BIS.

I’ll have to agree, 8.7-9.7 is the most terribly compressed BR in the game. The transition between transonic aircraft to supersonic aircraft and the huge increase in missile performance is too much of a huge jump. I’ve always thought they should lift the BR rating for everything above 9.0 so those ‘underperforming’ aircraft can flourish. I think the whole idea should be that each aircraft should be able to be competitive with each other. I feel a lot of the dedicated player base would be more than willing to give up quicker queue times in order to have fair matchmaking. If anything, the end result would lead to more revenue for Gaijin.

And also 6.3 to 7.3, you have ww2 tanks versus vietnam and cold war tanks with heatfs and apds, versus super heavies from korea war/post ww2, that place is crazy and if u have a ww2 tank vs cold war tanks ur always gonna lose horribly in uptiers (ik im talking about ground rb instead of air but its also a horrible br place)

Theoretically the question would be if it´d work out if you´d set the old top dogs at their old BR´s and add 4-5 full BR´s on top so you have a bit of playing ground to balance things out. Sabres and Migs wouldnt club WW2 jets and wouldnt be clubbed by Vietnam jets. The goal would be to make a slow transition in vehicle and weapon designs. How far this could be adapted to tanks is a question for another day as at some point you´d meet a dead end regarding armor and penetration without making one of it completely useless.

Said it for years at that point: A hard cut-off between missile jets and non-missile jets, so that they can't meet in battle. But I realized the simple truth. Tier 6 (and the compression of Tier 7 into it) is purely designed for one purpose and one purpose alone: To frustrate you into buying premiums/GE to progress. It's not meant to be fun or good or anything else. It's purely there to create a roadblock, so that Gaijoobles can sell you the solution. And it will never get better. Ever. Because it works.

Honestly was playing my hunter today and it was awful. Constantly facing A5Cs which are blatantly overpowered considering they constantly get downtiered to 9.7. Every single game I played had at least 1 in it and once they launch a missile at you theres really nothing you can do while flying an aircraft without flares. The magic doesnt care about you turning or barrel rolling. Try to run? Its faster than you. Try to dogfight it? Might have more of a chance here but it is still based on a mig19 so it is decent performing. Your only option is to try coordinate with some friends to prioritise killing these things first. I had a game where I had 8 out of my 12 teammates in A5Cs, and we dominated the other team. Its just sad really that this is what the game is now.

You can actually dogfight an A5 with a Hunter since the Hunter have way better energy retention than the A5 I know it because I managed to dogfight MiG-21s and MiG-19s with my Hunter F6 and FGA.9

The main problem for 7.0 and 7.3 jets isnt the F-84B being at 7.3. Its the SU-11 being so wacked out at 7.0 and does almost everything better than most of the planes in either of those BR's. To put it much more simply. As an F-84 player, i would be fine at leaving it at 7.3, as long as the SU-11 was either nerfed or moved up in BR. Even if i was still facing it in my F-84, as long as the SU-11 got fixed in ANY way.

Gaijin moving the zeroes any higher than 4.7 is absolutely stupid... They perform well until up that br, the moment they face F2G's and F4U4B's they are dead, the A6M5 Otsu shouldn't be 5.0 and the A6M6/5 Ko shouldn't be any higher than 4.7. They don't have the speed nor the firepower let alone survivability to keep up with 5.0's and up..

You start out with an airspawn, and you can go into a light climb and build up more potential energy than anything aside from maybe me-626s, which never gave me very much trouble. Energy retention is amazing and top speed is better than most of what you're facing. F84B isn't too bad in a dogfight either, it doesn't have a horrible turn radius.

I bought the F89D (and B) a few years ago to grind the USA tree, recently went back to it to grind some lions and noticed: no one was using it, and it was not uncommon to see late props like the griffon spitfire or tigercat in matches. Will be interesting to see how many more people play it with the BR changes.

The universal ±1 br match making may need changing. They could eg “buff” certain vehicles by preventing it from getting a full +1 uptier, so they don’t need to worry about other low tier vehicles seeing it in an up tiered battle. This essentially decompresses the br somewhat. World of Tanks used to have this system for some premiums I believe, but it has been a long time since I last played it.

yeah i was having this rant last night! i agree with your observation that top tier needs to be stretched the f**k out, alot. for example, i'd love to play with say, my german mig 19, but so far with the compression it's completely pointless - for example, having no countermeasures means i'm playing defensive and bleeding speed to try and dodge a million missiles, in an aircraft that should be kept fast! if planes in that era could have their own 'middle jet tier br', that'd be bloody brilliant. they basically had that sussed a few updates ago, before they added all the most recent top tier jets.

i still have ptsd from f84 grind... it was pure pain, now i have the f104 its a fast jet that feels great to fly but cant do shit , cant turn, dont have flairs and most enemies go straight to you because they have 4 missiles fly as fast and i dont have flair, specially regarding migs21 with 4x r60 any time i see one of the 3 or 4 per match i have to run away , also f84 was the same deal as some jets had missiles and i could do shit vs the pay to win jets and repair on the f84b was 17k..... so i never play that jet the reward vs incentive is off and i have 2 planes to grind to get a chance to play the shitiest f4 wich again can do shit again the top tier jets

Almost all the top of the tree jets have base repair costs between 5-10k, get one or two kills and you make money. The only planes with a SL problem are the fun/OP planes that get "balanced" by changing their repair costs and never looked at again, and bombers. If its really that much of an issue for you play Italy, Sweden, or Israel their base repair costs are 2-4k.

Considering the state of the game, the economical side of it is also making stagnations. I put the game up for a hiatus for a few months and decided to play it extensivelly for 2 weeks during my mandatory vacation time almost everyday and what i experienced was demorilizing. I decided to express my feelings with in the forums trying to inquire if others felt this way and dispite some voicing the same concern(having a long pause gives a certain aspect of clarity of the development), a community mod just shut it down and told me to git gud. The audacity. I played GB and intentionally didnt write anything after the first week, instead putting it on my rustiness, but after you've reached a certain point with the game, you dont forget the mechanics and playstyles. The grind in general is absolutelly horrendous atm and dispite many expressing their sympathy for the mods, many arent doing any favors to themselves at all and are in fact part of the problem. A significant part of the changes are absolutelly stupid and i believe even wargaming is making better QOL improvments to their game

Imo they need to either separate the BR's for aircraft in ground RB and Air RB, as well as for SB, so that Gaijin can get balance aircraft on more accurate data accordingly and so people can set up their lineups more easily. There will come a point in the game when balancing aircraft performance on player kills and points will not be enough to balance them and without proper game modes with objectives that are designed to fulfill different aircraft roles, these current changes will be harder and harder to justify. As an example, the Su-7BLK got removed from the store because it was incredibly hard to balance. It was an excellent strike fighter but a horrible interceptor and was basically useless and easy to kill in an Air RB match. Or the A-10A. A ground attack aircraft that is incredible as a strike aircraft in ground RB but, in air rb, will usually get stomped on in air combat on its BR and usually stomps in a downtier with its aim-9Ls and will always get outrun by F-4s, jet bombers like the vautours and even Tu-14s to the ground targets. Just give us more game modes to play and the BRs will mostly balance themselves.

As an F-84B player I can’t say if this is or isn’t a good change for game balance from someone else’s point of view, but it’s a lot of fun to always have both a speed *and* altitude advantage over everyone else. I guess I could flip a coin, at 7.3 there was little room for error, if you slip once you’re done. At 7.0 it is a. It easier to stay out of trouble and in a full downtier it’s kind of ridiculous.

The same problems goes for ground RB as well. But only in a slightly different way. Decompressing the MM, or reducing the spread of it from 1.0 to 0.7 could solve the problem easy... About balance... Gaijin HQ really has no idea what balance is, let alone how they could achieve it. Their solution is to put the same vehicles up against each other, resulting in for an example a sherman vs. sherman battle. They just copy-paste spam all the tech trees, because they don't know better. Some nations should only be a subtree to the 3-4 bigger nations. There are shermans in almost every tech tree (only Sweden doesn't have one.), there are F-4 and F-104 variants in every tech tree, UH-1 and AH-64 in almost every tech tree, some variation of the P47, Spitfire, Zero, or Bf-109 in almost every tech tree. We have unnecessary nations, for the sake of having them, and don't have others because "there's not enough vehicles of their own". As this goes, REALISTIC battles are just another variation of arcade battles, but without markers. It's World of Tanks, with planes. I played WoT and after 7 years i finally decided to quit it. (Including the clan i was in.) I may have to abandon WT as well... ...but there's no other game like this. (AW is a WoT copy since Obsidian got kicked, for not developing a WoT 2.0 for Mail.ru)

F2H-2 is an absolutely abysmal change. Even at 8.0, it faces off against the MiG-15bis and the MiG-17. And you know what? It gets clapped constantly by them. I've got one and can't even play it because it struggles so much. And that's saying something because I actually perform well. It's got the performance of a 7.7 plane, maybe even 7.3.

Im currently Trying to grind the Chinese tech tree to get the j8b. Atm im in my sabre "f86-f40" because I prefer sabres over mig 15/17's. Because its at 9.3, sometimes for me I'm always nearly uptiered against for example the lightning, mirages, f4c, f5c, mig19s, f104's, jaguars etc. Its annoying because they are obviously better than u in terms of performance and better missles. In fact I'm good with my sabre, just annoying to fly against supersonics.

I am pissed off that they increased the BR of the MK9C Spitfire after I purchased it on marketplace. It is an ultra rare plane and only available to purchase from another player. I had to exchange money for their fake game currency to buy it. How can they alter something after you have paid for it?

They should do br in .1 increments and up to .5 up/downtier possible. Player numbers are good enough for this that we would not have ridiculous que times, game would be balanced better so the less games we would get would be more fun overall, and better balance long term would bring in more new and returning players so ques would improve over time. Fact of the matter is, if game was fun then nobody would spend money on it. Because pay to win is the only way f2p devs can make their garbage games get any profit.

German air around that br is miiiiiserable. Don't bother playing anything until the Mig 19 is unlocked because at least with the G91 you have a chance it'll be against F86's and MIG15s and the like, where it actually is pretty fun to fly. Moment it hits 9.3 though and you are completely and utterly helpless. No matter how well you fly there is no way to catch or do anything about..really anything it faces in an uptier. And since german air until the MIG 19 is...some special sabres and only 3 of them you have literally no choice but to ignore them unless you want to put yourself through the misery of constant 9.3+ games, where you have a chance of fighting 10.0 vehicles. G91 R/4 is genuinely pretty bad around that tier btw so don't do what i did and force yourself to spend a whole ass night playing air rb in that tier with it(G91 R/3 is actually pretty capable though since its main armaments is those sweet sweet Defa 30mms.) Not to mention my favorite people who run back to AF and then claim they were 'just wasting your stuff' or some bs because they know they are basically safe, and the moment you have to turn away so you don't catch a roland to the face they turn and come right after you... Thats something i fought alot there, and those people that do that shit remind me why i hate air rb so much and why it needs to just....go away.

Well. I already had a feeling of "shit-zone" of br being pushed over 7.3-8.0 range a bit higher but i never knew how high it went so i did not touch anything past that (as 8.3 mysterie was berable while 8.7 is still in a bad place). I'm also worried that players aren't really willing to learn the ticks of the trade in chase for reliving the "danger zone" phantasies. We really need some kind of way for them to bypass to jet era as they are destroying prop BR's which where stable due to their insitance to turnfight. Like many good but tricky energy fighters planes are being edged out by terrible perfomance of brainlets

I think the F-84B is a good plane but you have to play it perfectly. Add in that it’s technically a starter jet and I can understand why it’s down at 7.0, since it’s just a less forgiving F-80

The lightning F.6 can do Mach 2.2 with a full fuel load. None of the maps in the game are big enough, but it can do it. I have on a few occasions managed to get it up to Mach 1.7 in actual matches where I’ve crossed the map to cover friendlies. It’s literally a lightning fast plane. I also find that it can pull 13G at around 800km/h which enables you to pull some very cheeky high aspect shots. Just don’t try to keep turning if you miss, shoot away full afterburner and you will not get shot down. 9.3 is a bad battle rating for it, it was absolutely fine at 9.7 as its only 10.7 aircraft that ever gave me a problem. I should add that I suck at this game but the lightning is one of my favourite aircraft because my grandfather was one of the first RAF mechanics to be trained on it in 1959.

The F-89B is a good plane. The D is not so much. The rockets just aren't what they used to be. Got nerfed into the ground. Damn near need a direct hit to kill anything with it. Works fine against big aircraft, but they get chewed up by anything with a narrow wingspan. Like, it's just good for killing bombers in head-ons. That's it.

it's sad how much better the game could be if they ever actually paid attention to the player base, or at least the "better players" like spit, to get a better idea of where planes (and tanks) should be; rather than using the same old numbers and stats (that a certain other tank game uses which has ruined their franchise )... but hey... I guess if you had to pick between solving issues in the game you spent years developing that brings in all your revenue or what color your next luxury yacht should be.. I'd probably focus on the yacht too.

What's wrong with the Sabre F-30? It's fine at 8.7, all the other Sabre Fs are there too. I agree with the F-40 however, 9.3 is too high for it, it should really be 9.0 (or maybe even 8.7, although that would make all other F sabres be inferior, so probably not).

Yup, France has a bunch of 9.0 jets and they're all useless because of compression. Any of the planes that is even somewhat useful gets an absurd repair cost slapped on it.

BRs are shit, i love to play low tier and one of the worst things for me is when i have to face la-5f in my i-15 or cr.42, i like to call it 1.3-3.3 free for all. It's totally sick, some aircraft were ruined due to BR changes and many like P-40 just seep past BR and often end up with 1.3-1.7 planes which is absolutely unacceptable imo.
