Is it weird that, barring the first 15 seconds and the last 5 seconds, this track is actually left completely intact in the PSP version? Im pretty sure that aside from Persona (the bad ending theme) and Aria of the soul, NONE of the other tracks in the PSP version, so I think that's kinda funny.

Uh, no. At least in the PSP version this exact theme appears in the fight against Tesso as soon as you enter Mali's world. There is no lockdown on the endings by that point.
