Paper Mario is so back!! ⭐️
I've been highly anticipating a simple port of this game for years now so I was ecstatic to find out that we were getting an actual remake! I've been loving every second of it so far, currently on chapter 5. Taking my time with it as I know the game quite well so I'm trying to do a 100% file to change things up.
This arrangement was way more work that I thought it would be. I record and program everything myself and since this is essentially two covers in one... There were A LOT of parts to learn or write down in MIDI form. Also can we talk about that Hooktail Castle variation in the second half? What even is this bass line? Even the rhythm guitars for that matter. It's all over the place yet the melody on top make it all work. It was really difficult to figure out and play but I think it made for an interesting arrangement in the end!
I discovered some new brass and string sounds while working on it and it makes a huge different in an arrangement like this. Logic Pro (my recording software) comes with a lot of built-in instruments and they even add more with updates from time to time. I noticed that I had never downloaded their "studio instruments" so I gave those a shot and wow... These have way more punch than their orchestral ones and worked way too well for this arrangement! Now I'm excited to implement them in future projects.

Awesome to see someone else revisiting the TTYD soundtrack cause of the remake! Well done. Honestly the new soundtrack is great, but I still prefer the OG ones. Although the added parts in the boss themes are killer!

Thanks dude!! 😊 Honestly, same... I enjoyed the new music a lot for chapter 1, then from chapter 2 and on, I'm not quite sure I like the new battle themes aside from bosses. I kinda wish the first battle theme would still play throughout the game.

Nah most of the new songs blow the old ones out of the water the biggest changes would have to be Magnus von Grapple and Hooktail as the originals were bland and repetitive but the new ones are FIRE a lotta other stuff sounds way better too although there are a few downgrades (Glitzville)

Amazing! The is awesome! Though I actually haven’t played the game… ha. I didn’t buy this game back in the 2000s cuz I was already in college and wasn’t playing console games anymore. (No TV in dorm). I bought the remake first day but let my son play first and I look and put on noise Cancelling headphone while he play 😂😂 Now I know bangers I can expect when I start playing!
