inline 4s are less complicated to work on then v4s. Less moving parts, a trade off versus v4 design objective is center balance and continuous power delivery at low to high rpm ranges. You can own an inline4 for a longer time than you will with a v4 by reliability and financially...

It’s simple. R1’s sound has a slight inline touch to it because it is one and sounds high pitched at high RPMs. RSV4 on the other hand is more throaty and has more bass to it. When listened in person, RSV4’s growls more than R1 and like a maniac beast… RSV4 sounds quite like a track bike👑

I'm a huge fan of the r1, but the Rsv4 sounds better than the r1 with the AR exhausts. My opinion the Rsv4 has always sounded the best, but you can get close enough with the r1 for less $$.

I don't know where you live, but here in Italy, the two basic models both cost around €21,000. Furthermore, the r1m cost €28,000, while the rsv4 factory "just" €26,000

@@gianlucameneghetti7543 maybe in Italy, without the shipping and the uncrating fees... I'm from the states, and r1 msrp 17k, Rsv4 factory 26k and r1m 27k. But I was referring to just the r1, if anything doing your own suspension and brake mods will only increase from 17k to 20k. That's pretty much what I did, bought a used 2021 r1 and swapped the master and calipers to brembo, forks and shocks to ohlins myself and the whole bike after these mods costed me only 19k. Which there is only one basic rsv4 they sell in the states here and it would be 19k. So yes, so I could have just bought a basic but yamaha parts and servicing would cost less. I do my own service so Yamaha made more sense to me.

Rsv4 for me, but I’m an Aprilia man through and through. You don’t see it spoken about much, but the reason the aprilia v4 sounds so unique and not like other v4’s is that it also has uneven firing intervals, so effectively you’ve got the best of both worlds sound wise
