You probably have finished the game by now if you're listening to this, but I'll put a SPOILER warning anyway for the ending. I wanna talk to the comments section about what I think of the ending ~ So, a lot of people didn't like the ending to this game, and I used to be one of those people. On a surface level, Olly's motives were incredibly flawed and lacked depth, the fact that he wanted all Toads gone simply because his creator... drew on him?? And the whole gag with the cranes being Olly's main goal was kinda like a kick in the face. But, after seeing other's opinions and looking at it from a different perspective myself, I've learnt to appreciate the ending. We have to take into consideration that Olly is a very young character, having been "born", mere days or even hours before the beginning of the story, and so he will obviously know a lot less about the world. His assumption that all Toads are the same, while being a hilarious, albeit unintentional reference to the Paper Mario community after Sticker Star, is justified, because the only Toad he's ever known left him with a, let's say birth defect with the writing (also, this is a reference to drawing/writing on your Origami being looked down upon, which I guess is another plus to the motive). it also is a surprising parallel to the problems with racism in our modern world, which intentional or not I applaud the devs for addressing the issue. He was also born into the world to be a ruler of the fake castle for the origami festival. So, having been created for that purpose, he would obviously believe that to be true, he should be ruler of the kingdom, so he takes it too far because that's what he believes to be true. This also explains why he believes Olivia should be sided with him all throughout the game, as seen by there being a throne for Olivia in the final room, and statues of her around the castle, because that's what they were born for. Olivia sacrificing herself has me a bit torn. On one hand, it feels earned, having seen sacrifice for the greater good herself (Bobby), and has learned to put her friends first through her time with Mario. However, the way she does it feels like an accident..? She says "May all of the origami folded by my brother be undone!", and it felt like she forgot that that meant she would be unfolded too. Either way though, I think it works out. Olivia is even younger than Olly, and throughout the game she expresses a lot of short-sightedness and naivety, so her miscalculating that makes sense. And if she did it intentionally, she has learnt through her adventure with Mario the importance of others, and that for all this to be over, ALL of the living origami had to be reverted to normal, and that's my head-canon, because that is beautiful character development. As I have been writing this I've realised just how good the ending to this game actually is when you think about it. Truly, this game is the best modern Paper Mario by a LONG SHOT. Despite it's gameplay flaws and legal limitations, it still turned out to be a masterfully created game, and I won't stop praising it

Gotta say, this is definitely the best of the modern Paper Mario trilogy. And not just because Sticker Star never stood a chance and Color Splash had a tedious battle system. This game is my 3rd favourite Paper Mario, behind TTYD & SPM, as most would expect. It was a fun game. It was by no means anything like the first Paper Mario games but this one tried being unique (especially with it's battle system, which I liked) and it was open world again, which was nice. It still had a good amount of story to it and had some fun partners, however temporary... Pretty good game!

Personally, I don't think Olivia has forgotten the fact that she was folded by her brother. In the final cinematic where she has to choose her wish, she stares at Mario. At this point, I think she must be thinking something like: "This is all my brother's fault and as his sister, I owe it to myself to make up for his mistakes, no matter what the cost." Plus, she can now be with her beloved brother.

I love how king of the koopas displays a new hope with the peach beam, and how the shadow queen portrays a demons craziness, and how Olly is beyond the point of saving and that you have to take him down. It was only here when I realised why all the Vellumentals were folded into Origami. Until then I was like "How on earth did Folded Soldiers get into the Fire Vellumental's temple which was buried in the sand for who knows how long?" ...Actually no I still don't quite understand that.
