Some Battle bit gameplay, sadly my controller overlay got bugged and OBS didnt focus on it.

your videos really inspired me to get into gyro aiming and ive been practicing for a few months. whats your set up on steam configuration for battlebit? im having a hard time figuring out what i should use for leaning
@getdunked Жыл бұрын
Thank you for the kind words! As far as my current config goes, I currently use JoyShockMapper to configure my controller. Also, important to mention is that, my controller has the "Extrem Rate Back Button Mod", which gives me 4 buttons on the back of the controller to map to (but they're only duplicate binds and the ergonomics of the buttons are not good enough to use all 4 at the same time, so its more like 2 ¯\_(ツ)_/¯...), this affect the way i configure my bindings. Anyway, as for the lean binding, since i use the touchpad to enable the gyroscope i have 1 free button on the touchpad click which i use to swap to another layer on hold, while on this layer square becomes my lean right bind and L3 becomes my lean left binding. This is my config, from JSM in .txt form: " RESET_MAPPINGS REAL_WORLD_CALIBRATION = 151.5 IN_GAME_SENS = 5 #Gyro Settings GYRO_ON = T2 TICK_TIME = 1 RESTART_GYRO_CALIBRATION SLEEP 1.5 FINISH_GYRO_CALIBRATION GYRO_SENS = 6 3.5 GYRO_CUTOFF_SPEED = 0.8 GYRO_CUTOFF_RECOVERY = 0 GYRO_SPACE = PLAYER_TURN GYRO_SMOOTH_THRESHOLD = 0 GYRO_SMOOTH_TIME = 0.0 #Movement, Digital Stick LEFT_STICK_DEADZONE_INNER = 0.8 LUP = W LLEFT = A LRIGHT = D LDOWN = S L3 = LSHIFT #Bindings ZL_MODE = MUST_SKIP ZR_MODE = MUST_SKIP TRIGGER_THRESHOLD = 0.06 ZL = C # Go Prone ZR = E # Interact ZRF = R # Reload ZLF = ALT # Either pinging or walking ZLF+ZRF = X # Field Upgrade/ Important Gadget T1 = TAB # Scoreboard MIC = ^ # Not important binding 1 L = RMOUSE # ADS R = LMOUSE # Shoot N = 3 # Gadget 3 E = 4 # Gadget 4 + = ESC # Escape - = M # Map TOUCH = NONE W = G # UP = LCONTROL # Crouch RIGHT = SPACE # Jump LEFT = B # Not important binding 2 DOWN = N # Not important binding 3 #Action Layer Hold CAPTURE = NONE # Change Layer CAPTURE,ZL = 1 # Explosives CAPTURE,ZLF = NONE # Pills CAPTURE,ZR = 2 # Medpack CAPTURE,ZRF = F # Meele CAPTURE,N = 5 # Gadget 5 CAPTURE,E = 6 # Gadget 6 CAPTURE,W = BMOUSE # Leaning or ability bind CAPTURE,LEFT = K # Not important binding 4 CAPTURE,DOWN = N # Not important binding 5 CAPTURE,L = NONE # Could be used but, high error rate CAPTURE,R = NONE # Could be used but, high error rate CAPTURE,L3 = FMOUSE# Leaning or ability bind 2 #Misc, Settings ADAPTIVE_TRIGGER = OFF # Disables resistance triggers from the Dualsense " If you want to try this you can just copy and paste this into a text editor and drop it into JSM

@@getdunkedthanks for the config. You don’t use rewasd for that matter? You seem to find joyshockmapper superior to rewasd?
@getdunked Жыл бұрын
@@jrmaffia01 I don't use ReWasd, I prefer JSM or Steam over it, the only time i would use ReWasd would be when I want to play Valorant, since that's the only program out of the bunch which allows you to use a gyroscope.

Great to see other people also using gyro! You're a hell of a lot better with it than me though. JSM looks a bit different to steam input, are you not using ANY smoothing at all? Or any sort of minimum movement threshold? How is that possible?
@getdunked Жыл бұрын
Most of it is just spending too much time in Kovaaks xD, but I did start to use some level of smoothing/dead zone/thresholds. If I use steam input, I generally use 1 point of smoothing and 3 points of minimum movement threshold. I dislike the way smoothing is on JSM, the only thing I use with this is "GYRO_CUTOFF_SPEED = 0.8" which basically, is a dead zone that removes the input below 0.8 degrees per second.
@tnargi Жыл бұрын
@@getdunked Very interesting! You must have incredibly steady hands, I don't use a minimum movement threshold but I think I'm up to 28 smoothing at the moment! I use a steam controller and I tend to use it on my lap for stability but that has a nasty side effect of 'bounce back' when flicking or snapping my aim. The issue I've always had, particularly with the dualsense, is that simply pressing the buttons is sufficient to disrupt the gyro and I would've expected that to exceed 0.8 deg/second, particularly when pressing the triggers or clicking the analogue sticks quickly. I find the minimum movement threshold a bit 'blocky', so I tend to avoid it but it's basically a necessity on the dualsense or simply pulling the trigger will send my aim all over the place.
@getdunked Жыл бұрын
@@tnargi I completely agree with your issue, regarding button presses causing shakiness, that's why I find the steam controllers' solution with its touchpads to be really elegant. Since having no moving parts, will minimize the shakiness caused by button presses, as well as better ergonomics for gyro gameplay specifically. I'm still holding out for a steam controller 2 by valve, since they've had a lot of success with the steam deck..., but even tough the steam controller is great, I find that by now the gyroscope of it is far too outdated, as far as responsiveness and accuracy goes, that's the only reason why I switched to the dualsense. The 0.8 deg/second is not really to smooth out my gameplay, it's there to remove variables i cannot control anyway, it also helps me to stabilize after a flick, as well as being able to kind of hold the crosshair still in one place, since i do not hold my controller in my lap anymore. Going over the value of 4 points on the minimum movement threshold, introduces some kind of microstuttering, which makes visually looking for targets, really annoying and causes eye strain for me, outside of that, i find it serves its point, as a kind of dead zone setting.

Thoughts on flick stick?

Incredible high potential, if you can get used to it its almost assuredly the most optimal way to use gyro. I would say.

Gyro looks hard asf. What do u use the right stick for if not for aiming
@getdunked Жыл бұрын
Currently, it's not doing anything and is unbound, but I usually use a mouse wheel on the right stick or a few extra bindings depending on the game.

Umm, I don't think anyone would mistake the player in this video for having aim assist. This is just straight spastic and uncoordinated.

I know, since Battlebit doesn't have any controller support, my title is kind of redundant, i still leave it in the title since many games on mobile do have aim assist with gyro and i don't want that to be associated with my gameplay.
@computercrazies Жыл бұрын
@@getdunked Ohh this is controller?! Then it is MUCH more coordinated than I assumed. I need mouse and keyboard for absolute accuracy where I can reverse around a corner only exposing 30% of the enemy during my turn type stuff. I can't perform as the video with a controller.

@@computercrazies Yes its done, with a ps5 controller with motion controls enabled, its a very interesting way of aiming with the device, its not done through the analog sticks.
