Still can’t get over how End Game, a top tier machine that’s won both the Giant Nut and Golden Bolt, got taken out by a slice of pizza (an admittedly very deadly slice of pizza but you get the point).

One of the riskiest moves ever in battlebots was definitely the attack from RIPperoni to EndGame even though End Game was fully disabled. EndGame is such a strong bot, that was a huge risk from RIPperoni

yes but its not just about getting the win, but how a win is made, if they won that way it would not have impressed the judges as much considering the aggression taken, now they can legitimately say they beat end game.

@@Sliski251 I love the teams energy and sportsmanship, and even the wonky design, I hope to see it do well, but I think it will take some seasons to get right, I don't know how they can drive with 2 asymmetrical wheels. and having them so exposed.

Aww man, I really wanna see Captain Shrederator do well, like when they couldn't stop spinning against Axe Backwards lol. Hearing that it may be a builder's last time is always heartbreaking.

Thank you! I really appreciate the kind words :) It's been great ever since Battlebots came back, we also had a brief comeback of UK show Robot Wars but while that has since sadly gone back to being cancelled it right now feels like Battlebots isn't going anywhere!

Though hydra lost pretty hard this time that does not diminish that last year it should have won. (this year both bots made changes) Tantrum got by so many fights by the skin of its teeth.

Great video! If you consider what happens to pro athletes/musicians and other TV personalities, builders have "fan interaction" really easy. Only communication I ever had with a builder is fan mail I sent Ray Billings, and he was cool enough to send me a package of freebies. Nastyness and heated rivalries sell tickets. There's a reason Yankees/Red Sox games or Mike Tyson fights sold out. Imagine having 50k people cheering when you blew out your knee or ended your career.

To be honest, the whole episode was awesome and the REVENGE MATCH between Tantrum and Hydra, will prove that Tantrum is the real winner not a fluke.

I agree, people really didn't need to go all hardcore hate mode on Tantrum...I admit, I'm biased, but I wasn't sure how that fight would go, and when Tantrum was deemed the winner, I was happy. /shrugs Though those who still feel like Hydra was robbed may be happy to know that Tantrum may not be around for season 8, so there. I've not seen anything official about the position of Tantrum and Blip's future in BB, but at the moment, it appears like the main focus will be a duo bot named The Twins. Now, will the captains from Tantrum or Blip appear with their own robots, I don't know, but I hope at least Blip can return to represent flippers. Tantrum can retire since it won the championship title once, but at the same time, I don't want them to give up on the robot after last season; They had technical difficulties and figured out the self righter during their last fight, and while that's definitely not good timing, now they can work on it more! (I totally say this wearing my "Not Dead Yet" Tantrum shirt) Also, I didn't realize that Jake and Ray were playing roles until people mentioned them being kind and supportive out of battle, but after rewatching various eps and seeing experiences with them compared to...Others...I believe them when they say that those guys genuinely care about the sport, and are just playing characters like Martin Mason does when he does his WWE impression. People are allowed to have opinions on fights and the captains/team members involved, but people really do take some of these too far. *HOWEVER* when people do act out like crackpots on the show (I won't mention names, but I'm sure you know), I don't blame people for being disgusted at their behavior. BUT that also doesn't mean you can send things like death threats or whatnot. This was their 2nd time on the show, and the certain someone acted okay (like in the Ripperoni vs End Game interview) at times. Other times he was a twit, but people also may need to know that he is neurodivergant - and while yes, that doesn't fully excuse his behavior, it still could affect how his mind works so he may not know how to behave during such intense competitions. Depending on how season 8 goes, I will rethink my opinion on this particular team. They say they'll return with improved behavior, but whether or not that's true, we won't know until they make it official (and if they don't, they may get punished for showing bad sportsmanship). Of course, one can still judge their behavior while NOT in competition...So they may have various things happening when not actually competing vs while they are... But all in all, don't send death threats or whatnot...It's okay to be disgusted or hate the person/people involved, but you don't need to go spamming their socials saying "f you and your team" or "I hope you die", OR "I HOPE YOU GET COVID / CANCER" because yes, people will wish these things upon others, and that's just not cool. Plus the guy did get Covid later on so...

The thing that got me disliking hydra was their fight agai.st huge. I know people will say he was just playing it smart, but in my eyes it was just crappy sportsmanship, and that tells me everything I need to know about Jake. His little comment at the end saying, "I'll give it to you now" had me scratching my head also. It was never his to give in the first place. He lost both fights. Hydra is a scary robot, but hasnt won anything yet. He's not SOW.

My thoughts EG vs RIP-anything that I can say has already been said. Long fork bad, RIP good SB vs Deathroll-This is how I expected Endgame vs RIP to go. Complete domination from DR! CS vs Hijynx-this was disappointing. I understand that CS is a massive wedge and how Hijynx could easily win with just their tail, but I also wanted that spinner to do some serious damage RotatoR vs Jackpot-Rotator dominated here. All though it lacked one big hit like their first fight, RotatoR really was surgical here. Deserved win. BD vs Skorpios-Chickenhead Is surprisingly strong. But BD is still working out those dang drive issues. Banshee vs Valkyrie-This fight, happened…Banshee got one good flip in and then proceeded to just push Valk. Meanwhile, Valk didn’t even land a hit and could barely drive. Tantrum vs Hydra-oh, Tantrum is lower. Hydra is having it rough with Rotator and Tantrum being lower then it which is very concerning. But anyways, a goof fight for a Tantrum fan, a bad fight for the Hydra fans.

Given how OOTAs are now basically impossible in Battlebots the strength of flips are in a weird place as to how much they may swing match outcomes. If Banshee can remain durable, reliable and can get that flipper to be powerful *enough* then it could be a solid competitor!

I wasnt really a fan of the episode, besides Rip V End Game and Hydra V Tantrum. Those were only good fights because of the upsets tho

I can't help but laugh that a team as elite as Endgame beat themselves with such a simple and easily addressed issue. *Just make the fork tips wider than the saw slots!* We see teams get their forks caught in there over and over (admittedly never this badly), when even a minor tweak would prevent it. Just something as simple as welding a quarter onto the bottom of each fork tip (ok, maybe a half-dollar) would completely eliminate the issue without compromising any of the forks' functionality. I'm sure these professional teams could come up with something more elegant, but that's how simple it would be. Look at the wide "arrowhead" tips on Sawblaze's forks - that team solved this issue years ago. And then there's Jackpot and their "anti-horizontal wedge". As the famous line goes "I do not think (that word) means what you think it means." A big vertical slab does not counter horizontal spinners - as these plainly didn't. Hopefully they were paying attention two fights later, because Banshee showed what it's supposed to look like. Sure enough, their wedge deflected Valkyrie's weapon all over the place and sent Valk into its classic gyro-dance. I mean, the days when the only path to the top was through Tombstone ensured all of BattleBots learned what setup counters horizontals - this is not hidden arcane knowledge.

Other than Ripperoni v. End Game and Rotator vs. Jackpot, this episode felt the most disappointing by far to me. It seems to me the bots are failing way quicker than before, leading to a lot to be desired

Still very annoyed with the fork on Valkyrie, it was so unnecessary, it's like Lucy doesn't have full trust with the bot's power, like we all know how Valkyrie still works even if flipped over, and a very wrong move with using the smaller blade with this, it made it harder for it to damage banshee as well, imagine if she used the original circular blade, and nor fork, and she just go all out, this match couldve been different too, like I know she is still adjusting to how the bot's drive works, but if it was the previous team captain of Valkyrie, Banshee won't even have a chance to last long in the fight T^T
