They need to add a touch more realism to the guns. Those French machine guns, like this guy has in the video, were jam factories. The mag on these guns would get get gunked up with dirt and mud from all the trench fighting and they would jam up. When the Americans entered the war, along with planes and tanks, they didn't have enough machine guns to equip all their units, so the British and French supplied much of it until the American logistics could catch up with troop deployments. This weapon in particular was one that American forces hated because it would jam all the time.

*Sigh* Just stop. The gun already shoots at only 300 rounds per minute and you want shit to just randomly malfunction in a video game? It's hard enough to get more than 3 kills per life when the guns work as is. Besides, jamming animations for all the weapons and variants would cost DICE even more money as well as be too time consuming to implement.

Funkfish25 Also, the Chauchat was a well made gun (minus the slotted magazine). The #1 cause of jamming was the American's version of the Chauchat was using the official 30.06 round adopted by America. The Chauchat wasn't made with the 30.06 in mind. The French made it to work best with their Lebel ammunition, which is why the clip is so massively curved to fit the bullet taper. 30.06 wasn't as tapered thus causing feed problems = jamming.

Dude it's a video game game, people will need to enjoy themselves with the game. I don't think anyone would want to play this game if there were gun jamming, thus all that time and money would be worth nothing since it wouldn't be playable. Besides it's already hard enough to get kills in this game because of the random bullet deviation, it would just add a lot more annoying gameplay if it were added.
