Getting spawnkilled by the battleship on Iwo Jima since they just shell the spawnpoints the entire round Dying because you walked down the stairs too fast. More than 50% of infantry kills being from grenades.

I see many people wondering if this game is still alive .YES ,servers are on and on their forums you can download everything you need (whole game, necessary patches ,fixes etc) .Two constantly populated servers in EU are SIMPLE(FRA) and AX . The plane taking off from a sinking aricraft carrier... I remember I've done this in BF1942, but the carrier was sinking from behind the plane, so when I was accelerating the water was constantly at 10 cm of my wheels and it was looking like I was chased by it x'D

BATTLEFIELD 1942 was TRULY game CHANGING!!! it added so much that others STILL to this day cant live up to EVEN all the future battlefields dont have planes that take off and land on carriers for ammo and fuel, destroyers, epic battleships, submarines (all that you can man the guns and drive the damn things) BF5 was a fking joke with the 1 predetermined course ship. bf4 was a ok with gun boats. But nothing compared to a battleship off the side of an island raining HELL on the beach head. (TAKE COVER!!!) NOTHING will ever live up to or even COMPARE to bf1942 EVERY other game now a days ADDS bullshit DLC for more $$$ and stupid SKINS and addons that are POINTLESS. BRING back some REAL battlefield!!!!

The first online game I started playing was this amazing Battlefield 1942. I remember this as it was yesterday, standing on the deck of a immense ship between some airplanes. Apparently not exactly knowing what to do. Some moments later a person on the other side of this world, or who knows maybe even in the same country, offered his help out of nowhere. He learned me how to fly and some other basic things.
