On pc at least, there's a couple of niche games that can get that itch. Mainly squad and whatever good milsim out there. But generally yes. Personally, I'm quite done with AAA games. As there's nothing worth spending money on.

​@@BattleBulko tbh gunplay in 2042 is MUCH better than any previous battlefield from a casual player's perspective. I think movement is too fast and sliding causes glitches in animation that are difficult to track and lead to deaths that feel annoying and cheesy, but that would be an easy fix. I really wish suppression came back stronger than ever; blur screen if you aren't in cover and slow movement while standing. LMGs are the only weapons that feel worse than in prior titles to me, because I could spray at a sniper in bf3 and they would have a hard time hitting me, forcing them to hide or reposition as they should when a hail of bullets go their way

Being a battlefield fan today is like being a fan of a sports franchise that hasn't won any championships in decades. We aren't out here holding our breath, our expectations were already rock bottom. Honestly all of this just shows how out of touch they are with the average FPS gamer and the average Battlefield player. We aren't buying these games for single player campaign so why waste money and resources on it?

I suspect SP drives some sales + EA will demand a $60 to $80 price tag. To plenty of gamers, an MP-only BF game at $60-$80 can look overpriced. To EA, which is 100% profit driver, they only checked if SP dev cost

Perhaps they should start understanding that, a battlefield game doesn't need to be SUPER HUGE NEXT GEN GRAPHICS kinda crap. Literally they can make a game using BF4 engine even with its movement and people would like it far more than 2042. The AAA industry just doesn't get it. People like Graphics but graphics get stale after 3 matches. But gameplay lasts.

Well considering how bad 2042 is, I'm sure they want to make the game more gritty. The old Battlefield games didn't sacrifice graphics for gameplay and neither should the new one. Next Gen graphics are a must.

Helo flight controls were my favorite. Great times playing Hotwire, chasing cars through downtown with a full team onboard,positioning the gunners to keep fire on escaping players.

@Robert-rm9dgBF V was the best Battlefield game after BF3. Gunplay, movement, TTK, no spotting mechanics (at first), it was a blast to play when game came out. Then they started to listen to fanbase and started to tinker with the game too much, but I still played a lot. Well, that is until Firestorm dropped. I quit then as I hate Battle Royale.

Its not like I am anticipating the next BF to land in any sort of playable state - regardless of anything that EA say - after all BFV, and BF2042 both landed in a real mess. And I am not confident they will land a new one much better than the previous ones. I will take the same strategy I took with BF2042, wait until it arrives, and then wait until it is playable and enjoyable.

Criterion working on the singleplayer TERRIFIES ME. Battlefield V's Firestorm, Battlefield 2042's Hazard Zone, and Star Wars Battlefront's (2017) Starfighter Assault were all created by Criterion and all either half-assed and/or abandoned entirely after 1-2 updates.

This is probably just a hunch on my part but I feel like we can't say the layoffs are a l l due to the COVID pandemic, games studios as a whole aren't making the money they were a few years ago and so they can't afford to pay as many folks. Have always loved battlefield. Stopped playing after bf1 mainly because I started working for real and growing up getting into cars more than games. That was my favorite multiplayer on bf for sure across all the years I played. Saw the weak campaign and immediately knew they were going to go very down hill. Like how I saw the weak dlc for black ops one and knew the series was over. Havent played bf since but seen a lil game play and it looks fine still. I’d want to get the recent ww2 one. Is it as bad as call of duty where it’s just to the point of being an ignorant dopamine farm money grab scam and not a game? To be fair, downloaded cod warzone, found dmz, most fun game I’ve ever played in my life. Been playing video games for a long time, dmz so much damn fun that it got me back into games more than cars now 😅

Every month that passes reduces my hopes for the next BF game to be anything decent. I haven't heard any good news about the game and EA's vision once except the obvious marketing slander. If they don't deliver a game that is significantly inspired by Bf3/Bf4 then I don't think they will have any success with that or the franchise as a whole. And I really don't wamt them too at this point. We have given them so much feedback and information on what does and doesn't work and it all goes down the drain because of some guy in a suit who is making decisions based on the stuff some market analysts tell him even though none of them even play videogames let alone Battlefield.

Thank you. Actually you don't need to place antigrenade station in the line of fire. You can put it right behind the shield and it will work excellently. Also you should remove silencer. It is useless most of the times. I use it only when I get behind the enemy's lines.

Honestly I'm not even looking forward to the new BF game after two fumbles. BF V wasn't all that bad but it was all over the place so when they announced that they are pulling everyone from other games and halted the NFS development I was fine with it because I thought they knew what to fix. But no. I'd rather see BF halted now for a while and EA should invest in reworking NFS and reviving Burnout. And also don't cancel unique titles like the Mando game. It hurts how they are unwilling to make a bounty hunter game

here is the issue with layoffs. Sure EA can defend their profits by laying off more, but you have to remember this happened right after their end of fiscal year reports. They do have money. In the end it was bad leadership and now the devs are suffering for it.

"Proven track records" of individual leaders on *OTHER* games isn't very relevant for the next BF title: we don't have a lack of experienced leaders nor a lack of qualified developers. We have a lack of focus. The level of focus needed can only arise from TOP at EA (not all the BF studios at the bottom). The shuttering of Ridgeline seems to belie the same lack of focus and it's obvious why a BF studio was the worst victim. EA still isn't-at all-focused on BF. It's a minor title. Wait for focus and then "look forward", IMHO.

The next battlefield game needs 20+ maps at launch, 40+ vehicles at launch, 80+ weapons at launch, and the best movement and destruction in any BF game to date or I'm done with the franchise. (That's not a high demand either, EA OWES US for two LIES of a video game in a row. I want my missing $80 of DLC content I was dupped into paying for in the last 5 years)

@Westie it seems to me that you have completely forgotten about how it was going with BFV and BF2042 launch and in both cases even before launch. After the debarcle with BFV i lost all faith and trust in EA and i have not even played all of the titles in the franchise as i went from 1942 to BF3 followed by BF4, BFH and BF1. Then came BFV being the game i have spent around 20 minutes spread out over both console and PC version (got them both for free). I played the beta for BFV and decided it was not for me. After it was released i watched game play and found it was not for me. At least it was not something i would spend money on. Just think of how people like yourself showed us gamers how they felt about us...having parties mocking us, telling us if we don't like it we shouldn't buy it. Or how about how it was supported long term......yet they cut support for the game just about 18 months later. How BF2042 was far ahead of schedule, yet the full release was far worse than the beta had been. You say that they have the biggest team there have ever been on a BF game. That in itself doesn't say much of anything. First of all there is no information about how many people who work on it, it could be 4 or 400. Some of the words that you mention they say that means absolutely nothing as they say the same thing for every new game they put out and when they game does show up it's nowhere near where they claimed it was. When it comes to EA i will believe it when i see it...
