I wish they just made the operators as random characters in specific class. Example: Operator - Rogue: has grapple hook Operator - Scout: has gullie suit and stealth These characters are randomly generated, with different faces, genders. Makes it feel more realistic instead of having 60 players running as Macay with same faces. Works on seige but not to a game like this.

Agreed, that’s a great idea. I also wish you could opt out of specialist gadgets. I want to use an ammo crate and a repair tool to play support, or an rpg and medical crate. Kind of short sighted of dice, could easily be fixed though.

The idea I would have is a seperate option that basically is similar in essence to like recruit in seige, no special abilities or anything, just a baseline guy, and just set it as a playermodel the bots have and give two normal gadgets to choose from. @B P16 No theres a distinction- the classes of BF are just regular dudes in the US marines or Russian Army or ANZAC or Whermacht etc… These operators have memorable faces, names, stories and it takes away from the anonymity of the past titles because we know so much about them. Plus, each specialist has a specific skill and ability. Each class had a multitude of equipment and weapons to make them specialized, but not so different that one function belonged to one class. There were usually different ways of playing each class (admittedly this was emphasized in BFV of all games).

Something about the in game voice lines that just isn't doing it for me, am I the only one? Previous titles had some real screaming you could hear voice cracking and desperation from the soldiers. Not the style of game I was hoping for. When they announced a new Battlefield, I was optimistic that we would get a modern game that is true to Battlefields roots. This looks like a wierdly colorful fantasy war to me. Not even going to mention the specialist shit. I miss the more real-looking, battlefield games where it genuinely felt like you were in a war. As a Battlefield player for 16 years (since BF1942) I don’t like how the helicopters feel they are too arcadey for me I can’t use fine inputs to aim I was able to fly into buildings in BF4 but I wouldn’t be able to with these helicopters. The tanks turret is too slow for my liking I much prefer the BF4 tank movement. The Electric truck you can drive is way too slow to get up to speed and needs to change. I’m getting lots of stuttering with my 3080 FE for some reason in game and am only able to get 80 ish FPS in high with a 2k monitor and a i7 11700KF processor. The aa missiles don’t hit half of the time after making sure the helicopter/airplane use their flares but the aa missiles in the aa tank works well tho. I love the sounds in game and I don’t find much issue with the running audio as I think modern games soldiers footsteps are a bit too loud. I love the DMR’s in BF4 but the DM7 in this game is so hard to use and the recoil makes me hate using it. Also the recoil needs to be worked on a bit as I don’t it very hard to hit shots with the AKM and assault rifle. I find the LMG more accurate and easier to use which is odd. I don’t like the defibrillator use by holding down E which is the same key to switch weapons with the downed player do multiple times i take the downed players weapon thinking I used the defibrillator but then I go try it again and res the player but now I have their weapon and they have my weapon. I don’t like the sliding as I’m running towards cover and I need to duck sometimes behind a not so tall wall but I slide when I duck and sometimes I overshoot my cover and get shot on the other side. That’s all I can think of right now but these are hopefully fixed by the time the game releases. Also for fun I had a BF moment when I was parachuting in the tornado a jet tried to ram me but just missed me but was so close that my character landed on top of the jet and I was walking on the jet for a few seconds and shot the guy out of the cockpit and parachuted back to the ground. I was cracking up laughing for a good minute.

@@TheLucidSpecter True. BF3 maps had clear A Vs B attacking fronts and flanking positions which provided consistent action and the ability to make plays that could change the flow of the game. BF3 made your actions feel important. Current BF games are far too expansive which then dilutes the importance of your actions.

Honestly, this is quite disappointing it seems they’ve copied a lot of features from MW 2019, there was simply no need for specialists playing as a random soldier was much better, no we have like 50 clones of the same specialist running around at the least they could’ve made the Russian and American specialists different . Furthermore this game had been in development for 3 years and this broken and buggy beta is what they produce:The game is suppose to release this month. Helicopter and tank as well as jet gameplay is appalling sound design is horrible compared to previous game the beta is laggy overall with a huge number of bugs the game feels very Arcady and weird not at all what I had hoped for.

I had fun playing for a few hrs today. I can’t really say if it was what I was expecting or not. I’m optimistic about the full product with multiple maps and play modes. I do like all the ribbons and achievements with ptfo as being the most Fruitful towards XP.

When everything is working just right, and you get into a good server, the game is so much fun. It’s the bugs that are putting a damper on my experience. I can’t wait to try other maps and specialists.

Am I the only one not a fan of the specialist system? I don’t like that there will be like 30 of the same character walking around. I wish they had a general operator skin like they always have had. Doesn’t really give you much of an army vs army feel if everyone has the same character.

Yeah, the game seems a bit, how can I say, empty? It just feels like you're looking for enemies on the huge map, not really trying to do objectives or having a goal. Maybe it's because of the game mode, conquest, too. I think/hope a breakthrough gamemode might be better.

NGL this looks and feel like a war zone meets battlefield knockoff. The guns sounds extremely weak, the sound when you kill somebody isn’t satisfying like in BF1, the hit detection doesn’t feel right and makes you think that you’re not hitting your target, the in game UI looks horrible, the specialist makes this feel like it’s COD and maybe it’s because it’s the map there is barely any destruction. Just overall disappointed with the beta

This is only a small snippet of the game. Only one map and one mode with 4 specialists. I think that's why many people compare it to Warzone. The full game is likely to feel much different than Warzone.

@@iceman7179 yeah I do believe that the extremity of it seeming like cod is due to circumstance. But still when I first watched gameplay on this within the first few seconds it felt as if I was watching some Just Cause game. With certain color schemes and bright textures. Not only is the mode gameplay shifting but the look and movement and feel seem to be doing so as well. I did not look at the first gameplay footage and see battlefield. It seemed to me as an attempt to appeal to a new generation instead of bring battlefield fans back to the title.

@@tAm16250 I think the biggest issue is this game lacks the immersion that BF1 and BFV had. For example the oversaturated colors when the map is sunny, to the dull theme, the fact that you see 50 of the same specialists running around and finally the fact that your character doesn't seem to respond to surrounding destruction & that there isn't much destruction in the first place. I still think the nailed the basics like movement, gunplay graphics etc.

I accidentally did a barrel roll with ease in the heli. That shouldn't ever be a thing. I remember trying for years to work towards that in BF3 & BF4. It's like 2042's heli doesn't have any weight to it, which makes building up any kind of speed feel disconnected and strange.

Played for 3 hours today. I liked the gun play, and that you can do the battlefield thing. From cons, I really wanted the score log with XP in the middle. Just remember how satisfying that was in bf4 and 3 to have a kill streak with all those numbers flying up. Also, I didn’t enjoy the futuristic interface, I wish it would be a little more conservative.
