The one thing it does lack to make it a bit more immersive are fires that would emit this huge amounts of smoke that plaque the sky and give it that extra immersive feel to the game…but the game still delivers overall

That is entirely a map design aspect. El Alamein was always an open field, open sky map. What you're looking for is Op Firestorm.

True, I'm loving Portal so much. I hope they are planning to add more previous BF contents like BF:Vietnam and also BF2 maps with its factions like US Marines vs MEC or EU vs China. 1:20 seconds into the video I begin saying to myself "You know what, I think I'd play the game better like this. Tweak the HUD to my liking (More like Sandstorm) and really home in on the battlefield lol. Ima give this a try later. Turning off my mini-map forcing myself to use more situational awareness. Yeah, I think Ima start just playing the game the way I want to vs how "it should be". I bet I'll enjoy playing the game like a kid all over again.

The lack of detail in this game is sad compared to other Battlefields. Like at 1:15 when he starts shooting RPG’s, the missile never actually leave the launcher until he reloads where it’s magically gone and he putting another one in.
