Battlefield 2042 Leveling the G428

Gameplay footage of leveling the G428 to Tier 1. Even though the G428 in Battlefield 2042 doesn't have access to the better red dot sights I still have fun using it, so because it's fun it's probably going to get nerfed soon. Seriously what is the logic behind DICE's sight/scope limits with weapons in BF2042? It doesn't appear to be faction based or country of origin like in some previous Battlefield games. Although it is one of the few guns I've come across where I like the iron sights. Anyways I'm pretty sure I only included footage of when I was using High Power and Subsonic rounds. Nothing against the Standard rounds I just found I had more consistency and won more active engagements when using High Power ammo which was likely because of the muzzle velocity being faster so it reached the target I was fighting sooner vs their bullets registering on me. I'll play around with Standard rounds some more and see if I can find what it is I don't like about that ( and an excuse for another video ). The attachments used in this video are varied, mainly the Warhawk Compensator and Rattlesnake Light Grip, personal preference after running around with all the attachments using those two ammo types I mentioned were in the video, it could just be placebo but I had more consistent success ( instead of random BS ) with those two attachments. Side note, with how many different ammo types there are in the game it would be interesting if they had a more detail stats page available to players so they could see under each weapon their accuracy per ammo type.
Also not sure what is going on but we might have to play earlier in the day to see if it's just low population or if matchmaking is somehow broken because it seems rare these nights to get a full game or one without bots/AI.

My lobbies actually are mostly bots. Sure we played really late but trying to join 128 conquest, 13 people in queue. 64 conquest, 12 people in queue. I have no idea why the hand didn't push me to say, US servers if EU servers were the empty. Friggin need that server browser.

I looked at your description and I totally agree on the weird choice of restricting sights on guns. Love the G428 for sure, but why doesn’t it have either of the really good red dots. Also, why can’t we just get sight options on the vault sidearms? They’re used by no one just purely because they don’t have any sight options. I know for a fact that the 1911 and the Rex are great sidearms, they just need some love

When they mentioned they were going to get around to giving the Vault weapons BF2042 attachments I was hoping for the same thing. I was pretty bummed they didn't add a suppressor or some other barrel attachments for the GOL Magnum and yeah the sidearms getting no decent sights was sad. Why bother? Other than to make the weapons more uniform with the rest of the weapons in the core modes of BF2042.

The vault pistols do lack mounts for optics, although in saying that I believe the G57 lacks them too. Honestly, it's more the lack of a laser sight on the vault pistols that annoys me the most (although the hipfire spread increase on vault guns is notoriously terrible, so it wouldn't help all that much). And as Ravic said, the GOL also getting shafted regarding attachments sucks as well. It even lost it's BC2 scopes, with the only real gain being the unnecessary ext. mag (that doesn't even change the magazine model). Couldn't get any grips, or muzzle attachments, but can now use a wide variety of meh optics that don't really suit the gun. Also it looks weird with camos on it, but at least they aren't worn looking like one the XM8, ACW-R and the new G428 Vault guns were a mistake, but trying to make them seem like they are balanced for AoW is even worse given they are almost all inferior (with the 2042 attachments, ironically, being worse than the vault ones)

I'm almost certain the reason why this is the case is because it would be too overpowered in close quarters. If you look at the SVK,which feels very similar to the G428,it packs a punch with laser sights. The fire rate is just the problem. However, the G428 has a great fire rate,can be full auto,has high power rounds that still don't make the FR slow,and combine that with the MGL laser and the red dot sight and it becomes super broken. It's like the BSV-M from season 1 all over again. The exclusion of red dot sights from the G4 makes it a good dmr that also isn't capable of dominating like an AR. And as we all know,most people don't like running iron sights, meaning holo sights would be the best choice

Five months ago, I noticed they remove all red dots from the M16A3, one my favorite weapons, even the reflex sight a non-2042 attachment. This is odd considering ALL the other assault rifles have at least one red dot, the M16A3 is the only AR that does not have a single red dot sight, and I have no idea why. It doesn't even have the K8 Holo, which imo, is the next best sight, despite not being a red dot. I've since started using the Maul Hybrid, it's annoying to have to ads then press F in order to use the secondary sight, but whatever.

Maybe one of the reasons you like the high power more is that the slower rate of fire causes less bloom, not sure if that’s accurate but I like the higher rof and larger mag with the standard rounds.

This gun irl is a fun gun I've been able to shoot it. If anyone is wondering what it is it is the HK g28 it is a dmr chambered in 7.62x51 NATO or 308. And it usual comes with it's own scope that was specially designed for the gun.

Agree 100% with the standard rounds for the G428. For me, it feels like the high powered rate of fire is in the perfect butter zone for recoil with the warhawk comp. To get similar results with standard ammo, I feel like I have to use the long barrel to have the same accuracy, which reduces the rate of fire and the damage at range for the only benefit of added ammo per magazine. Honestly, it doesn't feel worth it. I'm not going to get deep into sight options, because it's like you said; No good red dot, but irons are good. I haven't tried out subsonic enough to get a good grasp at it, and with how Dice is, I'm not sure they're worth using.

I think subsonic now requires the combination of using it with a special suppressor to get the advantage that subsonic was giving previously which was no directional indicator from where the person was getting shot from. Meaning you would shoot someone and it wouldn't show them that handy little red direction pointer/indicator of where the incoming damage was coming from. I'm pretty sure the G428 doesn't have that special suppressor so I'd feel they would be completely pointless to use over HP or Standard rounds.

2:55 : So other people have the same problem of textures not loading, too. And here I thought it was due to my PC getting too hot or smth. This keeps happening to me after a few long rounds. The thing on console has no recoil. And the bloom basically doesn't exist. So its certainly getting nerfed since it literally out TTKs some SMGs in CQC. It could use some tuning. Its better than the DM7 at range since it lacks recoil and bloom. Where the DM7 Blooms on the first shot and is a 3 BTK no matter what.

Noticed with the black screen that you can get more longevity on it happening less by going into EA app and clearing cache. This being a bandaid of course but might help. The only real issue I see with 2042 right now imho 862 hrs in this game is pretty damn good.

A DMR with the two shot potential of the SVK, but with a faster rate of fire and less recoil. Lordy. I'm gonna call it "OP and broken" until I unlock and get to use it. Then it'll be "totally balanced and fair, plz no nerf." Also, on a more petty note, when are we gonna get some cool skins for Angel?? >:T All the gimmicky specialists get the cool event skins. Angel MIGHT get the same pair of pants but in a slightly darker shade of brown. They keep making gameplay changes to frustrate people into working as a team, but only make cool stuff for the lone wolf selfish specialists like Mackay, Sundance, and Dozer. Probably cuz they sell better. 😔 The support boi deserves better clothing!

@@TheSanto245 But it’s very controllable, compared to the M39, and even if the high power ammo is worse than the SVD, it’s got a higher fire rate allowing it to outcompete both the M39 and SVD. Out of all of the available marksman weapons, the G428 is undoubtedly the absolute best across the board. Except for maybe accuracy, it’s accuracy isn’t all that great at range.

​@decimation9780 The problem isn't that the G428 isn't broken op but that every other DMR is just shit because DMRs in this game have been always shit since launch. Compare them to BF4 DMRs which were a fucking terror to behold. It's good at most ranges below 150ish meters but only 2 shots below 50ish. But if you miss 1 bullet you're probably fucked if a good player is shooting back. It's definitely a noob stomper and is very deadly in the right hands but I rarely get killed by it.

You can tell dice really want people to buy the stupid battlepass, they nerf the crap outta G36 and ACR in the last update yet did absolutely nothing to VHS and this damn gun

G36 just got a very minor nerf to it's spread increase. It's not that noticeable, and tbh the G36C is just a side-grade to the VHX: VHX gets UBGLs and standard ammo extended, whereas the GEW-46 gets HP extended. RoF and damage ranges are similar as well for each ammo type. AM40 is also similar, although it gets both HP extended and standard extended (although referred to as a drum mag despite holding only 40 rounds) at the cost of worse spread at range and hipfire.

@@Slenderneer VHS is literally a straight upgrade of AM40 and probably should not be considered a side grade to G36, it easily outperforms G36 within 60m due to the stupidly high firerate and decent accuracy.

@@zerophoenix8312 Exact same RoF, similar damage range as the Gew 46 when using the same ammo type, and accuracy is probably about the same. They are incredibly similar, and are more or less side-grades to the other. Funnily enough the Gew 46 ends up having better damage over range and won't drop to a 7 shot kill, unlike the VHX.

@@Slenderneer Excuse me are we playing the same game here? VHS has 850 rpm and G36 has 750, 700 if using HP. Technically G36 can 5 shot kill up to 150m with HP but in actual gameplay it’s nearly impossible to hit consistently beyond 80m with the gun, let alone to kill.
