shotgun enjoyer here. the way shotguns perform in this game make me so sad. hitting someone up close in the chest with a 12 gauge buckshot just for It to hit marker is depressing.

Only Insurgency did Shotguns somewhat close......and even then they're inconsistent whenever someone's wearing a lot of armor.

Seems like the sex bot comments are here but besides that I've honestly enjoyed playing this game quite a lot I've tuned into some of your streams you've been doing recently which are enjoyable:) only problem with this game is how crazily their AC goes even with things just being opened and not interacting with anything.

I wish I was able to enjoy games like this, but no matter how much time I sink into them I just absolutely SUCK at pvp, I’ll just stick with my games that let me play against bots, better for everyone that way: I’m happy and I am not holding others back

I hopped on this game the other night and was doing pretty well. It got late and I thought just one more game before bed. Ravic was on the enemy team that last game. I got wrecked so hard, it made me rethink how good I am lol.

Well you look like you're having more fun here than with the snipers. How do the suppressors affect shotgun damage drop-off and muzzle velocity? At least I remember those in 2042 really taking a hatchet to those

It didn't really feel like the attachments were doing anything to the shotgun or how it performed in actual use in-game. I'm not entirely sure they were improving or changing anything useful. Tried a bunch of builds and they all felts the same awful way. There is also the possibility that the range of the shotguns is tied to muzzle velocity but it's kind of hard to prove or show proof of in video form even in the firing range, just speculation from things I noticed. Anyways it's interesting that they straight up cut off the range at which you can damage someone with a shotgun but they don't with any other weapon types.

I think my main issue with shotguns in DF is the inconsistency. I get pellet spread being slightly variable on every shot but considering in the first 10 seconds of the video you killed a dude at point blank range in 4 shots and later on are 1 shotting at 10-15m is kind of nuts. But I think you’re right it doesn’t feel like the attachments really change anything performance wise in game.

are you east Coast ravic? I see you're getting 40ish latency in some of this footage, assuming the latency counter is accurate I'm West Coast and the best latency I've gotten is like 90ms

I rarely get a chance to see you play shotguns on stream. what attachments and rounds are available to you/equip?

Uhh I don't think there are any additional rounds for shotguns. Similar to how the other weapon types don't have other ammo available to them just larger magazine sizes. The attachments changed a lot on the stat bars but didn't really have any effect on the gun's performance in actual use so I can't really recommend anything because it didn't feel like anything mattered attachment-wise on the shotguns.

@Ravic oh. I thought they had ammo types as well. I don't think I'm ever gonna download this game or even play it. But I thought maybe if they had slug rounds that thing might even shoot better than a sniper.

@@imtrippedout I think there would be far less weapons available if they had multiple ammo types per weapon. Attachments are one thing but straight up changing the damage or damage type of a weapon is something else entirely within the game itself, memory, storage, processing, it's a bigger hit to add ammo types than it is to add a useless amount of attachments.

@@Ravicthe extraction mode is filled with ammo types. If BF can have multiple types of shotgun rounds, so can Havoc Warfare.

@@Leach-ez7dq BF2042 has far more ammo types and far less weapons available because of it. In a way you are comparing two different games to one game since Havoc Warfare has its own damage values for each weapon that is different from the extraction mode's damage values for each weapon. There is a reason they didn't just copy and paste all of the Portal weapons in BF2042 to the base game. Each time they did do it they had to limit other things and free up space and resources elsewhere. It's one of the reasons why BF2042 now visually looks worse than it did at launch.

I've seen mention of Q1 2025 so anywhere from January to March for release if they hold to what they've said. PC gets early access before that but considering their focus on the extraction mode it kind of makes sense.

Rare for devs to make shotguns in a pvp game, somewhat accurate to real ones.

The shotguns are garbage compared to real life. Real shotguns can easily hit at 40m with a good grouping. These tickle at 15-20 feet and are very unreliable.

Try out Insurgency games espacially Insurgency Sandstorm. There is almost always that one guy with unmodified m870 on close quarters map that just one shots you from 50m with basic old buckshot.

@@GodisFrisky The UI isn't very intuitive. Right above the "Start" button in the lower right corner it mentions the mode or one of the other translated names. A/D is what I think they call Breakthrough there and when you click that area above the Start button it lets you select other Havoc Warfare game modes like Capture which is King of the Hill or Conquest for this game. I know it's a Chinese developed game but the translations are all over the place which is a bit odd for something that is a blatant copy from other games.

There's currently A/D, conquest and siege now available. Last one is 3 objective capture with one team defending and other attacking, match end if tickets run out or attacker gets all 3

@@Ravic Gotcha, I appreciate it! It plays a bit clunky to me and has that typical UE stutter but overall I’ve been enjoying myself. Still needs a lot of work done.
