Humvee tactics for old school and new school BF. Drive backwards to avoid getting gun down through the window. Drive slow on milsim servers to allow infantry to walk behind you as you push up. Great tactic and a beautiful sight to see! Bought me black hawk down vibes!

I like your design decisions in portal. It results in cinematic battles, distinct frontline (thanks to rush), its the Battlefield i want. For example not adding helicopters because paratroopers will ruin frontline combat. If you could remove parachutes, then transport helis would be sick, as i like miniguns, or being a pilot for the gunners. What stands out to me, is that the experience strikes a middleground between vanilla BF3 and Squad/Hell let loose/etc. Its a niche that is impossible to find in games nowadays. Either indie companies go full milsim, or AAA companies go for very casual cod-like shooters to appease the broader audience. Currently your Portal doesnt looks like a mil-sim to me. It could be with more settings (lowering defib effectiveness, adding stamina, bleed out, ...), but at that point, why not go and play Squad instead? What i like about your Portal experiences, is that it achieves cinematic battles with good accessibility and little down-time between action. There's no ingame VOIP, despite that you frequently experience cool battle scenes. In other words, you dont need hardcore cooperation (clan, or friends) to have fun, unlike Squad or other milsim games. So i'm afraid that you'd go too far towards milsim end of the spectrum, but you do you. On another topic, about rpg/smaw spam - you want to reduce the amount of them per team. I understand because its spammable vs infantry. How about reducing the ammo to 1 or 2 per engineer? Or reducing infantry damage? (if the means to do so become avaliable). In 1st case it would make support class a lot more useful, currently its underwhelming compared to capabilities of medic (revive + smokes), engineer (RPG) and recon (spawn beacon). Simply limiting engineer class/RPGs per team would mean that cool carbines are off the table for most of the players. Also medic gets too much smoke grenades - 3, i think should be lowered to 2 (if/when it will be possible). Smoke underbarrel launcher is extremely effective for attackers, any amount of players can have it, they easily can negate any defender advantage.

Incase you guys are wondering why 2042 base game is failing so badly, it's because the long time devs have left the studio, and a former dev stated EA is driven by microtransactions and wont listen to reason, and Battlefield is a empty shell of what it used to be. So basically if you guys are expecting the next Battlefield to be better think again. With all the devs just about gone EA's vision is all that's left.

I wish they’d have kept the vehicle system that Firestorm used so players could make tanks more realistic. That, and the chance for shells to ricochet if the armor was angled effectively. God, I honestly get mad thinking about these things. It’s like they make so much progress in one game and then throw it all away to start from scratch for the next one and it never makes sense. They waste so much development time remaking things they never needed to and the end result is half finished and missing core mechanics and features previous games had. Gaaaah. Why DICE? I wouldn't be surprised to see some cinematic movies being produced by gameplay alone! I give it 2 months before we actually start to see some truly new gen cinematic videos. Kinda wish you can hear the stuka making the screaming noise but I don't hear it or maybe the pilots just didn't dive bomb properly. If they added the screaming noise, that would put fear into infantry on the ground.

There needs to be bazooka limits and vehicle control sliders to just slightly up the realism for the machinery. For example, there needs to be a way to convince pilots to stay at higher altitude somewhat. I feel like stiffer controls (more realistic) would cause that.
