Battlefield 2042 Runs Out of Content... AGAIN!

So the new Halloween event, Circle of Hell hasn't been able to make up for the lack of content that Battlefield 2042 is facing, despite adding the infamous M1 Garand to the AOW. On the other hand, BF2042 hardcore isn't paying off even for the fans of hardcore which again, makes me wonder, how else can Dice start to ignite some interest in the community!?

I've been absolutely loving hardcore mode. I mean they need to REALLY nerf/adjust the vehicles but I've been loving the infantry feel if the map. Been playing this mode like crazy.

I'm loving this mode ! Been playing it for hours and hours. Takes a while to learn to delay fire for a moment to identify your team-mates to avoid friendly fire. Locking the weapons to certain classes has also been challenging (And also exactly what the whingers have been complaining about and wanting) But the fun is trying to work out how to adapt. Lack of new content ? Then talk glowingly about Battlefield 1 and 5 ? What new content is there ? "This game "Chess" will never have long term success - there's no new content"

Battlefield 1 and 5 offer variety, not new content. 2042 doesn't have variety in almost anything!

I love the snow map, we just have to use a little of our brain and see where are the main sniper area and avoid it or try to flank them, hate the desert map, that’s so a big of an area without proper cover, that map 90% is players using some sniper of some sort and that’s boring to play

Ever since cod4 hardcore has been my favorite game mode in most shooters. Other shooters I play now like insurgency or squad have very similar aspects : very low ttk, no radar map, no kill cam, no ammo count, friendly fire and I personally love that. I have only a few hours played in 2042 but I do find myself playing on a hardcore server (only populated portal server i found). Infantry combat feels good to me but vehicles and explosions and snipers are the issue. I dont mind getting shot and killed from 100-200m without knowing where it comes from but longer ranges than that makes it unfair. I do however understand that hardcore players in a mainstream shooters will be the minority and that a lot of players won't be interested by it.

@@xaviercote1 good points. Thing is, this event has literally two maps only, with open terrain and snipers just abuse that, making it very hard to enjoy the hardcore mode!

I'm part of clan, we run portal server. It's semi hardcore, carefully adjusted to avoid one shot body kills. One thing to achieve this, given the possibilies, is to disable snipers.

there are quite a few ways to deal with them honestly, even tho yea some thermal snipers campers can eba annoying XD u need like 15 min to get therman on Redacted map against bots

Honestlly i kida get to like new maps. Especially if u manage to unlock thermal and use Lis rockets. u can go co op against bots on map Redacted and farm weapon kills for a weapon u like. having at least 1 good weapon for each sub category really helped me. also best thing about Battlefield are classes and adopting to the current situation what u need. i have so many clips need to make video out of it. If Battlefield 2042 also has some for of proximity voice chat it would be easily one of the biggest games out there. and more classes

I doo agree with the maps being kinda open and not enough cover but I think the hardcore game mode is so much fun tbh and adds more realism to the game like hell let loose or insurgency. Me personally I’ve been loving it and enjoying it. I hope they add a hardcore mode in the battlefield game that comes out. Pro tip, use thermal 2.5 thermal sights :))

This maps in this harcore mode is just BAD, unplayable! I tested it and its a nightmare. It's just sniper and camper haven. NO skillz needed. Just terrible!

It's nice to have 2 "new" maps to play on but will they add them in the rotations at the end of the event? It's weird to add content just to remove it 4 weeks later I mean frontlines is my favorite mode to play but it's gone lol even though they added a new map on it... Its like working for nothing...

I just don't understand them not adding in all portal weapons to AOW.... like I know most of them suck competitively but why not just add them all in. They're trying to drip feed the rest of the portal weapons into main game which just makes me not wanna play.

In my opinion, DICE was just lazy with 2042, because in the last months, the only changes that they made at the game was integrating vault weapons and a vault vehicle to the all out warfare, theres nothing new to that, if they at least added more attachments to them, it would be KINDA good, but the way they are, there is no benefit to use them. There's not even prestige skins for them, so what do i need to grind for? Why should i use these type of weapons? I really hope they use all their forces on the next Battlefield, because the way things are, i'm not hopeful at all. Right now i'm playing Black Ops 6, and i'm having a blast, cause Activision actually knows what their player base wants!

I completely agree.... except for the part where you you said Activision knows what their players want. They've been just as bad as EA on most issues they're just clearly ahead because their nice shiny new games only competition is a rushed out poorly planned BF game form 3-4 years ago.

I played a bit of the hardcore mode, and imo its trash.. maps are terrible, way too open amd wide. First game i tried with the mp9 and rm68, my go to’s jn their categorie, got famed by snipers like it wasnt funny. The second game i tried it with the gvt45-70 with the heavy supressor and now i was the one picking everyone off, especially since you can be so stealthy whilst one shot killing most players. So pretty unbalanced gameplay and awful map desing. Even as a semi-noob/casual player can see it’s trash, annd i think that says enough. I’ll keep playing normal conquest modes, and hope to soon forget about this halloween nightmare. (I do like some of the cosmetics though😅) Peace to y’all!!

@M107Gaming i dont think we need to compare it to squad, both are different games but i dont think hardcore is a bad thing, people shouldnt hate something just cause they are either bad at it or dont wish to adapt and learn. Somethings i hardcore need a tweek but overall i think the game mode is really good and means you gotta think about your gameplay instead of running around like a headless chicken firing an assault rifle randomly
