I used to run the FLIR like this on an SKS in Hardcore. Absolutely lethal at all ranges. Two shot kill. Hardcore is the best mode. And really, all Hardcore is, is “cheat mode off”! More lethal, no kill cam giving away your killers position, no 3D spotting. Brilliant.

I miss hardcore mode, and that was mostly due to being able to actually use the sniper from secure locations, and actually getting a kill from a distance. I think snipers really should have the Min-Max range 1-shot factor

My favourite combo was an MG4 with 2x FLIR scope and a bipod. Rush to the middle of the outside section of Locker, hit prone, wrack up the bipod, and you've got that whole flank locked down. The killstreaks were insane!

The smoke IR build was a monster in metro. Most people never ran IR scopes (especially at the beginning of the round) and you could just mop up tons of kills. Prone with a supply bag at your feet and a bipod LMG...

@@NaughtyShepherd tell me about it. I was told by a friend it launched with hardcore. I bought it. Still waiting. Last night, I found a dedicated Bf3 HC server. I haven't found one in years. So happy to be back. I dont have the time to play Project Reality any more, and Hardcore Battlefield is the best compromise.

What was even better to used to be able to see through smoke with the FLIR on BF4. I remember getting too spot on CQB maps for conquest m416 with FLIR and a grenade launcher with smoke

One of my most over powered class set ups in any game till now was the MK11 with a target finder, thermal scope, suppressor and a bipod on dark ops maps. I could just lay down in a bush and no one would have any idea where i was and i could just pick off everyone

It’s one thing to use the flir on a sniper rifle (means you have a harder time at range so that’s kinda whatever), but it’s another to use it on an LMG or something. Chances are, if you’re using an LMG in the first place, you’re just sitting podded in a hallway. You don’t need extra eyes when all you’re doing is staring at a door.
