That game was played on a server with fast vehicle spawn so the 2nd spawned just after the first took off.

the other team was a big fan of helicopter suicide rushes, didnt seem to be effective though

Yes, there is but if you don't like unlocking everything you can import your ea account data or just join a max xp server and unlock everything instantly.
