Bf 2042 really shouldve kept classes and done class limited customization, like for example, only support class can wear skins with big ammo belts and thick armor, and only scouts can wear capes or caps. All of this so that you can actually tell what class someone is while still allowing customization. But no, dice just couldn't bare to keep customizations rooted in some form of reality and had to fuk up this games immersion.

@@LyonPercival a big complain is that you have not enough cover in special with the amount of vehicle that attack you 24/7. The understanding of map design changed in the last 20 years a lot and have only open maps is not that much fun with 128 players. You need a few maps with other focus so that every player has his maps. That said I have fun with 2042 but still think it doesn't use it's potencial and was a complete buggy mess at launch. It gets better but is still a long way

I get what they wanted, but they should have looked at it like seige did, while seige fucked up a lot things, they did have a great baseline, your primary gadget decided your role you wanted to fill, your secondary gadget was for determining how you do it a little bit differently, and them weapons let you balance that out while having them be different power levels, though even if they didn't want to restrict weapons just restricting secondary gadgets would really help

@QUAD849 Short answer: having rainbow six siege style variety of loadouts in a game in a 64/128 player sandbox does not work. Long answer: I think the problem with they are meant to be viewed as highly specialised individuals with very unique skills, but the problem is everyone that in a game you have 40+ of the same 2 classes that can have an answer for everything. Considering the ammo bag is an all kit item, it's probably is a symptom of the sandbox that everyone goes around with health kits as time to kill is so fast that ammo isn't that much of a typical issue, however the health regen being slow means prioritizing healing. (Also the ammo specialist ability just beats the ammo box by an insane amount) The fact that they are both the medic specialists means that they can be far more aggressive in the current sandbox.

Creating a own soldier was my dream all the time. Imagine changing face, gear etc. World war 3 does great with that. That'll be so awesome and then you can have 4 slots for each class a Slot or so. Recons only can have ghillies, whilst Medics get siringes in their equipment to make the specific role clear someones playing

kinda agree, if you're going to play with a gadget system at less make the characters customizable, no one wants to play a grandma even if she has a healing dart gun or some cringe design character who has one of the most fun to use gadget. Plus thet classes should dictate who can use what specific gadget like a soldier should be able to use the weapons and medic should be able to use healing ones, lumping it all on a single pre made character kinda sucks the fun out of a game.

I’d say BFV had it down the best where there were both classes and soldier customization. I would just add some class specific visuals so it’s obvious as to what role they fall in. Hell if they wanted to add cringy dialogue they could’ve added voice selection options as well. All this is monetizable as well so it’s win/win for everyone

the issue with hero shooters with gadgets is for gameplay purposes the almost need to be locked to a character, like if i see a the guy with the grappling hook i can predict his movements vs a healer. if anyone could customize their character, gunfights would be unpredictable because you dont know what special they have until they use it.

Man it's great to see you guys doing battlefield animations again but even though how much of a mess this game turned out, it's good to see you're finding some content and enjoyment from it, honestly this is the only way I find enjoyment from it lol. Also I really despise the specialists like why not do the characters like in bf5 or even better make a new way for character customization like in Souls series or something?
