They should also offer free2play like Warzone Firestorm. This means that new players are coming and also bringing with them the money for cosmetics that EA loves. Further updates and new maps etc. bring EA far more revenue than in 2042.

Most videos fail to praise the movement system in BFV. This game has the best movement in all FPS games still to this day. (Manual left/right leaning, Crouch sprinting, balanced sliding mechanic, prone on the back seeing where your legs extend, even falling from a height and crouch rolling to cancel fall dmg.) Really unsung movement hero this game.

@@fenharel2137 Yes, it's smooth, but it's way too fast, which promotes run-n-gun gameplay like COD. Compare the movement of BFV to BF4 and BC2 and you'll see what I mean. The movement in those games is slower, but it facilitates more tactical gameplay, which is fundamentally different from the movement of BFV. Bf2042 also has very fast, COD-like movement, but it feels more clunky than BFV. I'm saying that I prefer the slower movement in BF4

BF5 one of the best games of all time once the Pacific DLC came out. It's just so beautiful, the explosions, the drama, the near misses. Exceptional. So true about skipping the major conflicts, what a missed opportunity. I like almost all of the maps, but people want to play those major battles. A "Turning Points" DLC would just kickass. D-Day, Stalingrad, the Ardennes, Dunkirk, so many to choose from.

I jumped back into BFV after having it from Games Pass for a bit. It was not only the cheapest, but probably my favourite of the more modern Battlefield games. Not a bad deal for $3.63 CDN. Now, between BFV and Battlebit, I feel like I'm finally "back" into Battlefield style games. Really haven't been since BF2. Yeah I'm old.

I was just thinking about making a return to Battlefield V and didn't even know about the sale boosting player counts. Battlefield I had the best level de-evolution. Entire buildings in various maps could disappear if the fight were persistent enough. I really hope they get back to that. It really changes how the game plays and feels, making each round seem different every time.

It actually hurts to see Bf5 doing so well and knowing I can't jump back in like I did before. I played bf5 from launch up until the launch of bf2042 and put hundreds of hours into it, but I was forced to stop playing as my EA account was locked due to be not logging into their website for so long and was forced to reset my password in order to play. Issue is the email I used for that account is long gone and when I tried answering the security questions I kept getting them wrong as its very old information. So I had to make a whole new profile in order to play 2042 as I wasn't that far into it, but the idea of going back to the older titles after losing all my progress was daunting

They didn’t bolt all canons to the floor on naval ships. They sat on rails. Bolting canons to a ship could make it sway unpredictably so it had to be offset somehow.

@@ExpertContrarian at this point accusations of "woke" have just lost all meaning. One war story had you playing as a teenage girl and another as a black French colony soldier, sfw? The last one had you playing as a literal Nazi in a tiger tank. The main faults of the campaigns were them leaning in to stealth which didn't really suit and that there was only 4 of them, it would have been great to see something like Omaha Beach or Stalingrad in that engine, as much as they've both been done before. The gameplay changes - attrition system, focus on squad play (if that is what you're referring to) - were fantastic imo. They gave an MP match a sense of urgency with cool rewards and it really suited the WW2 setting without trying to be an all out war-sim

@@voorachter2733 its true that its biggest crime was coming after BF1 - even if it did make sense as a war series - but not because it was lackluster in comparison. BF1 was a phenomenal achievement because not everyone was sold on the idea of a WW1 FPS game being fun, and they proved to everyone it could be done - but true to the era, the period vehicles were clunky and slow (because they had to be) and the weapons weren't as customisable as in previous titles (because they couldn't be). To then go in to more of that old world war style with BFV left a lof of people wanting to get back to a modern setting - which they then completely muffed up with 2042 and its extensive departures from the BF model

Battlefield V has honestly been my favorite Battlefield released (I was sort of late to the party, started at the end of 4). I get the launch wasn’t great, but I thought it was insane how many people pushed this game to the side early on. And now everyone comes crawling back. I wish for nothing more than if the devs came back and added a D-Day map for Breakthrough, similar to how Iwo Jima was designed, added an Operation Market Garden map for Grand Ops, a Battle of the Bulge map for Conquest, and some Eastern Front maps as well

Something I never hear anyone talk about with BFV is the movement, it feels so good! I love that we're able to dive to our side, or roll to our backs while prone. I also love the vaulting and climbing system, being able to jump and grab a ledge to climb on is such a cool feature.

I bought bf5 on sale recently, I’m a long time bf fan but never picked it up before. After I bought it I had all the dlc, all the guns unlocked at level 1, and 10,000 in game currency. The gameplay is fun and I’m happy the dlc was included, but having everything unlocked off rip makes me feel like I’m not working towards anything as I play. And since I have more than enough in game currency to spend before I likely get bored it’s the same problem. But for less than $5 it’s a hell of a deal

I agree with the longevity aspect. Graphics are just starting to get to the point of diminishing returns as well. I see hardware being able to stay relevant much longer before being outdated too. It's the cheaters in every second match me and my friends play that breaks the deal. Playing on private servers prevents you from coming across cheaters, but not many people know about the option to play on private servers option in the lobby so the servers have problems with ''seeding'' (getting active player numbers) We would play 2042, but the cosmetics break our immersion when you get killed by a guy with a flaming skull helmet.

See and this is why the series fell down the rabbit hole... It actually was the worst ever in a battlefield game. And Dice had to start pleasing two seperate fan bases. @@Nitroh- For one not enough weight on the character, When you run it feels like you are hovering over the map instead of actually running. A mistake they did again btw with bf2042. The slide should never ever have been in a world war 2 game ever. I am sorry but it pulls you straight out of that immersion to begin with. Sliding over cobblestones? Sliding uphil like you are john wick? And that is what i mean battlefield v dont have a clue to who it was targeted at. For one they wanted to do the war justice and put in the story's of the smaller battles to put more feeling into it but then the gameplay is this weird ass mix of things they felt where needed so everyone would enjoy it. It is a game that is full with things that show a clear identity crisis. Something they later admit btw one part of the studio wanted the old,the other part wanted to focus on something newer and faster and what we got was something that never should have been made as you cant do both. It is one or the other. Something again they later admitted. And if we talk animations i am sorry but no.... The animations from your own character from first person view are horrible for sure the arm animations like they stretch way further then they should. And then you have the awful down animation with no object detection what so ever. So 99 percent of the time half the charachter is in the map,in the wall,in a box, And my god the horrible animation when laying prone. Way to little inbetween animations to make it smoot. Also your head can turn way to far without your body following. Nor does that body following animation make sense because once again no weight attached to it. Like they added it to bring more immersion and wanted to slow it down to then make fast to catch up with the gameplay. Same identity crisis. And it is vissible everywhere. For a triple A game these are mistakes that just are unforgivable. For sure with the standards of Dice. A standard they continued with Bf 2042.

You're so right about destruction, like that use to be a marketing point for DICE. Showing off destruction, showing the siege of shang hi build fall. 2042 doesn't feel like Battlefield partly bc of that lack of destruction.

Recently, I purchased a PlayStation 5 and acquired both Battlefield 2042 and Battlefield 5. I must say, Battlefield 5 runs smoothly and boasts impressive visuals. It is easy to pick up and I particularly enjoy the Pacific content, as it provides a satisfying historical setting. Playing Battlefield 5 feels incredibly enjoyable overall. On the other hand, my expectations for Battlefield 2042 were initially quite low. However, as a new player, I found it fun to explore the new maps and spent a solid 10 hours immersed in the game. Despite this, I couldn't help but notice that Battlefield 2042 lacks the familiar four-class system that is characteristic of the Battlefield series. Additionally, the overall sense of distruction feels off, and the game's futuristic setting seems too far removed from the traditional Battlefield experience. This comes from someone that only played a lot of BF1 and really enjoyed that game :). I will keep playing both games for the coming months. Really hope to see some new content for atleast Battlefield 2024.

It would’ve been so nice to even have other axis and allied factions such as the Italians, Vichy French vs French liberators, Chinese, and of course, the Russians. I got into the game about 6 months ago and it’s addicting! But I can’t help but feel let down at the fact that so many essential events of WWII were excluded. As you mentioned, the European theatre is lacking. Yet it would’ve been nice to see a bit more in the pacific theatre maps. Doolittle raid/ Battle of Midway would’ve been so cool as a dogfight only map. Or even Pearl Harbor.

I'm so happy that people are actually playing BFV. All of the gameplay mechanics they brought into BFV create such an immersive and great experience imo. The worst thing about it is it's bare bones progression system.

I love this game. I got it late in 2021. I am still not great as I continue to work with my settings. I just love that we can be the Germans or Japanese. In most games you have to be allied Soldiers or French Partisans. Lastly even with some the problems I prefer to play this game over BF 2042's future war

I hope the next game is more like BF3/BF4. I was so disappointed by 2042 that I refunded it and never looked back, even though I've heard it's better now. I never cared much for many of the design decisions in that game, so I'll just wait for the next one.

i still run 60 fps on high graphics with my gtx 1070, wich is btw bottlenecked by my cpu, so you dont have to have a monster pc to enjoy the graphics of this game, it's amazing

Battlefields have always been fun, the casual spectacle of it all of them always have a place in the market, especially for the basis of fun and squad gameplay. The difficulty now, is where the series has left to go, all modern conflicts have been explored and the games “BFV and BF1” still hold up really well for Ww- combat and visuals. So, for me I can’t see where they might go, that isn’t very specific of feels “the same”

I think the fact that battlefield is always super optimized is a silent, but big factor for especially PC players. On my old pc, I genuinely just thought i didnt have a capable build. I had a ryzen 7, 16gb ram, but an old 1050ti... i couldnt run black ops cold war reliably at all. But then I played Battlefield 1 and realized i was completely wrong about my pc. I busted that game up to 1080 and ultra settings and got 90-110 fps at all times, smoothly. It just blew my mind how a game like cod, (which isn't even on such a grand scale when it comes to draw distance and overall detail on screen like battlefield), could run at 50-60fps and stutter every 2 seconds on pretty much the lowest settings possible

I just want Battlefield 2 and BF1942 with modern gameplay mechanics and graphics. The more slow paste gameplay wasn't a downside imho. CoD always catered towards the fast FPS enjoyers back in the day and BF to the more "tactical" players. I really would love to see a more tactical, slower paste BF that still isn't as Hardcore as e. g. Squad or Hell let Loose.

I'm "new" to these. I've played campaign 3,4,5 and 1, but I became interested in fps multiplayers at a later age (30 years). Really great games and I like to play 5 and 2042 the most. I have played 2042 the most, but the lack of content is starting to frustrate me. But I love these games and I hope the next Battlefield would be awesome. No future scifi robot stuff, but something set in the present day or recent history

I miss playing hardline but nobody’s ever on there anymore and I heard the servers might possibly get shut down in the next year
