IMO this event is also working as a sandbox for the next battlefield , we see : classes with their guns , each nation with specific skins , no sliding or sprinting and the colour is different also . Maybe they are trying to call the attention of the veterans or participate this wave of milsim like squad , tarkov and breakout ( I know it does not get near from the milsim of these games , but maybe an inspiration?)

Conquest is the same, Rush is the same, gun customization, progression system, TTK and balance is the same. The only difference across battlefield games are the maps. 2042 has some of the worst map design, and that's all that really makes it so bad.

The lighting is a huge improvement. It made the explosions look more awesome. As much as I like hardcore mode, previous BFs didn't feel very complete or fleshed out. I would suggest like the minimap should still be active with spotting turned off because sometimes you end up running through places that are out of the bounds where you would logically think are traversable. Also ammo should at least show how many mags you have left as you would know irl if you just looked at your kit. Just some suggestions. I think BF1 and BFV had the perfect modes which were a bit hardcore.

bro not even time of day variants, just day/night cycle, where join game at midday but after 30-45 mins it gets darker so you might need to start changing your equipment: thermal, flashlight, close range range combat

2042 needs more hardcore modes like in battlefield 3 and 4. Those hardcore modes felt amazing and made you play slower. No mini-maps, 2 shots and you death, you could actually play like a squad while trying to catch the sniper or infiltrating the enemies bases. Damn, i miss those days.

Coming back to BF2042 from BO6 is such a breath of fresh air. Dunno but i feel this game have the better gameplay feel than newer CoD. Fast enough to react to gunshot and weighty enough to restrict erratic movement. It just feels right.
