Hello VOR. To answer your question regarding the lack of Ukrainian recruiting in the 18-24 age range you need to look up the population statistics. There you will see a massive drop off. This was due in large part to the huge emigration of Ukrainians in the 1990's through to early 2000’s. Everyone who could leave, well, they left. So those babies were born in the West if at all. The problem is one of demographics. This puzzled me as well until I looked it up and came across several articles on the matter. I hope that this helps. Keep up the good work.

General Surovikin flew in from Algeria this morning, he has a meeting with President Putin in the Kremlin. Perhaps General Armageddon will work his magic on the Ukrop forces in the upcoming Russian offensive.
@MarcoSwart17 күн бұрын
Russian offensives in the last months did not succeed in removing Ukrainian troops from the eastern bank of the Dnipro near Kherson, weren't able to retake Robotyne, failed to take Vuhledar, stalled after making advances made near Marinka and Avdiivka, lacked the strength to conquer Chasiv Yar and lack the strength to force the Ukrainian army across the Zherebets River. If nothing seems to work out, it's quite reasonable to try something different. Somehow, I won't be surprised when in the coming days the "Kharkiv Offensive" stalls too. Maybe, just maybe, GLONASS-guided glide-bombs aren't silver bullets after all.
@dirremoire17 күн бұрын
Yah, it does look like Russian men are lining up in droves outside recruiting centers. Ironically, Ukranian shelling of Belgorod and the terror attack in Moscow only fuels this vast influx of volunteers.
@ailinofaolin889717 күн бұрын
What Ukrainians did to Russian pows also caused a spike in volunteers which is also ironic.

Regarding the bridges over the Dnieper. For the strategy of attritional defense to work you need the enemy to keep supplying fresh troops and equipment to the front line. Russia has manpower and more importantly, heavy equipment, in continuous supply at the line of contact. They are able to do this most efficiently because of their heavily integrated railway network. Everything in this part of the world moves via rail. Men, weapons, ammunition, food etc. The logistics are enormous. So the Russians are always well supplied in relatively static positions where they have operational superiority while the Ukrainians have to transport everything on a degraded rail and road network where they are easily intercepted. So that is why both sides have kept the bridges intact over the Dnieper.

General Surovikin will take charge of the Kherson offensive he retreated from there Similar to General Lirpin he withdrew from Kharkiv Oblast now go back and return it with interest General MacArthur style
@zeljkopopovic266217 күн бұрын
No. Surovikin retreated tactically from Kherson as acting deputy commander of Gerasimov at the time. Ukrainians wanted to destroy the dam on Dnieper that' was main reason for retreat. Region of Kharkov was under general Lapin who had to resign (after losing Liman) and took the post in General Staff Command later on. He is now in charge of the forces who are attacking in Kharkov direction. Nobody knows where the Surovikin really is now.

Great analysis. May I introduce two additional potential objectives? 1. I don't think Charkiv and Sumy are the main cities to be captured. They are indeed great for committing the Ukranian troops but may potentially leave Odessa dangerously exposed (troops currently stationed in Transnistria). I know it's a longshot, any thoughts? 2. I think introducing more and more fronts would expose Zelensky and his regime to become vulnerable which may even trigger a potential uprising to overthrow him. One more week and his term as president is over. If he stays in power, he becomes a usurper... Finally, I wouldn't be surprised if the Ukranians become so weak it may trigger the Poles and Romanians to invade territories that belonged to them historically, i.e. Galicia, Bukovina, Bessarabia... But I may be completely wrong here as well 🙂
@truthseekerodinson509417 күн бұрын
Yeah, I'd say you're completely wrong. Poland has been giving Ukraine the shirt off their backs and are discussing having Polish air defense systems covering the western portion of Ukraine. Ukrainian constitution prohibits elections during martial law and Zelensky would be required to alter the constitution (requires super-majority) in parliament to do so.

Russia is not the Soviet Union And is not fighting this war like the Soviet Union. They are limiting their casualties while inflicting heavy casualties on Ukraine. The Soviet Army in WWII had Comisars that would shoot their own soldiers in the back if they faltered. And used human waves to attack the German army. The Soviets had 100,000 casualties to take Berlin, even after a week of bombardment. And they lost many, many T34 tanks. They were fighting against German men, children, and different SS regiments from different countries. The ones that fought the hardest were the Estonian and French SS. And the funniest thing of all is, that Russia today is fighting who the Soviet Union, and the USA, Britain, and the other allies. won the war for. Strange, huh?

People don’t realize that you can’t see forces when they aren’t moving around the battle space. By Russia actively moving around the 800km front launching attacks it draws Ukrainian forces out of hiding to target with lancets/artillery at Ukraine never reports as losses.

Very nice lesson on the subtle use of propaganda today, VOR. Let's review: -->CAN say that the new Minister of Defense will be great at everything. -->CAN'T say that Shoigu got replaced or why that might have happened. Also CAN'T say that the 2 Deputy Ministers Tsalikov and Ivanov also went out the door shaking up the whole "plan". -->CAN say the new Russian Minister of Defense reflects Russia's focus on a "most efficient wartime economy possible". CAN'T say why that may be necessary and CAN'T say that Lt General Yuriy Kuznetsov was arrested in his bed, with Deputy Ministery Ivanov also arrested weeks earlier. For this one episode, probably best not to mention Ukrainian corruption. DO continue to say that "Russia's inevitable" despite the whole plan being thrown out the window.

Think the Egyptian crossing of the Suez Canal in 1973. It's there to be there and cause a problem. They're using the riverbed or whatever to the East to protect themselves and force the Ukrainians around the corner. They've found defensible terrain and they're occupying it. The Ukrainians will send something, and they'll fight whatever they send. Think of it as a maximum pressure campaign. The point is not to make them do less somewhere else. The point is to just do plain more than them.

I just hope Ukraine wasn't manipulated into this war. This has been devestating for Ukraine infrustructures, lives and economy. Was Russia going to take Eastern Ukraine had Ukrainian president resisted external pressure and declared neutrality? I was hoping Ukriane was going to negotiate when they had the upper hand during Kharkiv offensive. It was the best time while there were enough troops!
@truthseekerodinson509417 күн бұрын
Ukraine cannot negotiate with Russia. And YES, Russia was going to try to gobble up as much land as it could regardless of any negotiations or their outcome. The problem with negotiating with Russia is that Russia is demanding that Ukraine give up its sovereignty. Allying with another country, or choosing neutrality is a sovereign decision. Russia is demanding that Ukraine lose that sovereign choice. Now a king or a dictator could make that choice and commitment, but the president of a democracy cannot. This would be wildly unpopular either immediately or with a bit of a lag and the next politician to come along would win the election on the promise of reversing that unpopular decision. This is exactly what happened with Ukrainian President Yanukovych as he was selling out Ukraine thereby resulting in the Maidan protests. Another example would be to look at China-Taiwan relations; the more China tries to bully Taiwan, the more popular the anti-China party becomes. Humans are stubborn. Most likely Russia is well aware of this. Most likely Russia, for the above reason along with others, has zero interest in negotiations expect perhaps with the US. Russia wants a vassal state with zero sovereignty and Ukraine is never going to give them that.
@lintrichards600717 күн бұрын
I mean... Yes they were ordered to fight this? Their government was told that the American Empire (America and it's vassal states in Europe) would give everything needed for victory and sank very generous terms for Ukraine in the Istanbul agreement on their request.
