And yet even in the face of their superior many still chose to lay down arms and leave this battlefield they wanted nothing to do with. And in return? They were killed by those they thought were their brother. Fight for your country, die in a glorious defense of your homeland, or die by the hands of your kinsmen. A traitor, deserter, coward.

Today, at least in the UK, I believe they get payouts by the government for compensation and disability pay. They get discounts on top of that. We spent a lot of the Post War developing our welfare state and todays systems are the results of layers upon layers of new legislation and amendments to previous welfare acts until the refined version came around. Did you know that originally in the UK the first compensation you could claim for sickness at work was almost impossible to claim as it cost too much at court and back then was ridiculously costly to prove scientifically as well. They say that everyone who died in war, did it for their country, but one thing my friends... one thing I can bet is that, if they were to ever get a chance to see what the world has come today, they would regret every single bullet they shot at their enemy, and yet alone be drafted and forced to go into the war. If they knew what they would of been fighting for now, there would of been tons of protests to fight against a war. The world today, is such a brilliant multi cultured world! And that is amazing, our world today has reached lengths we never thought it would 50 years ago... but yet us younger generation still do not appreciate it. We take it all for granted. We have got used to being comfortable and we have slowly became arrogant with our ways. We disrespect people, racism still exists, we take advantage of what technology we have today, and we use it to make others feel like shit. We humans are all sinners, but the 2nd generation, us have probably sinned the most. I refuse to be arrogant and say that the men and women who died in the wars died for nothing, because they did die for something but, the thing they died for was really not a lot. And I am sorry, I do have ancestors who have died for their so called "country". But, let me just say this... How can someone die for their country when their country goes on forever no matter what circumstances, but yet the average human life back then was 60 - 70.... a piece of land will live on forever, human lives won't.

Both places have problems, and both have changed over time, however, what the country means its self and what it meant in the past is something that does not change. The spirit and heart of both places can still be seen if you look past all the clutter and negativity of peoples opinions and thoughts. Nationalism is your country and being willing to fight for your country. I'm proud of both Germany and Texas. Both have a great and fascinating history, granted Texas is far shorter then Germanys. Germany has over 3000 years of history and has gone by several different names. However, the spirit of Germany is still there and will remain. I dam proud to be both Texan and German.

I did not mean of course that you bear any personal responsibility.
@germanic-texan4 жыл бұрын
@@robertwhite952 I am not ashamed of Germanys past due to the fact that there is more then 12 years of German History but yet over 5,000 years. I am both proud of Russia and Germany despite what Stalin and Hitler have done, yet that does not deter me from having a interest in both Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union. I am not proud of what happen during their time frames but nor do I let that small time frame over take the full history of their past. Germany alone has over 5,000 years of Germanic history and if it was not for the Germanic people, you would not have a Britain today let alone the United States. To be a nationalist (no I am not meaning a fascist, yes there is a difference) means that you both have pride in your country but to also admit its mistakes. All countries have done messed up things in their history, yet look how far that they have come. America, Germany, Britain, and more have all outlawed slavery, changed the way that they use to operate for the better. I am proud of my personal family history and their respective countries (Germany, Russia, Ukraine, England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland). You cant let the bad that a country has done over take and over shadow the good that they have done. Many findings that where found in 1933-1945 Germany and are used in todays world with very little knowledge of where they come from. Same with the Soviet Union, and other darker time period across the world. If you let that become the main focus, your not only ignoring all the good that has be done by that country but saying that the bad (or in this case 12 years) over takes and is more important then anything else that that country has done in its past. You admit both the good and the bad, and remain neutral however admit the mistakes of the past and you try to not repeat them. But that does not mean to ignore any of the good or the bad either. To shut it all down is not only a tradagie, but also a terrible thing because how else do you learn from the mistakes, or how do you learn of what your contry has become? The British Empire, Soviet Union, Nazi Germany, French Empire, etc. all did messed up things. But that does not mean you simple ignore what they accomplished.

Would approve, we swiss could use our old national anthem then. It is in my opinion better than our current. It was changed because it has the same melody than "God Save The Queen".

@@Teufer2 America has a song with the same Melody as well. God Save the Queen.

When the Queen dies we should consider changing it to this or Land of Hope and Glory, and retain God Save the King as a Royal Anthem.

And pray, do tell, who claims the spoils, Amidst the battlefield's cries and toils? Is it the boys, their hopeful dreams unborn, Or parents, with hearts so deeply torn? Nay, it is the vultures, with eyes so keen, Swooping down on futures, once serene, For 'tis in the carnage, their feast begins, Upon scientist brains and athlete skins.

When man toiled with each other, evil rose to send the world into a dark age. When angels looked upon the Earth in sorrow, God ask his children, "whom shall I send?" One by one young men stood tall amongst the rest and replied, "Send me." And so millions of lives were lost defending the world from evil. Let it be forever echoed through the ages for as long as humanity lasts that when darkness consumed the planet, the Greatest Generation stood firm again it. And won.

Sometimes I think why Does war exists and when I think about all the inocent people who dies on this makes me wonder in war we are a number or life we fight for our country and we forgot about the humanity and we became to cold heart and stain feelings

So sad this game went this way. This could've been a great authentic game like BF1. It could have shown us the phony war, with the french Tiralleur soldiers being playable instead of f&%in' Misaki. We could have played Dunkirk, we could have played Stalingrad, or Pearl Harbor, imagine Pearl Harbor with Battlefield's destruction? How hard could it be? They had the ship models from Bf1 what the hell happened.
