I like the options, particularily if they follow the fluff: *Imperial Fists/Black Templars (with a skin pack) > True Fleet-based organizations that would heavily favour Tactics and positioning. (Like the Navy Favours) *Dark Angels > Better Plasma tech/relics: Boosted speed and ranged weapons/strength. *Space Wolves (If it truly is "fluffy) > A inordinately larger ship vs ship fleet: cheaper units (different victory conditions?) And a array of Imperial Navy Strike Cruisers with lances and Nova Cannons. *Blood Angels > When shit needs to be ****ed up and with chances of less 'restraint' than the 'Wolves: Teleported Terminators, Boarding torpedo Veteran/Assault squads+; Furioso dreadnoughts - all occasionally going berzerker mode. Oh... And Death Company/ Dreadnoughts when you reallllly want to be a prick. *Ultramarines > This one confuses me, honestly. The Imperial Fists+ basically take the cake for the best naval minds... So the Imperial Navy "favours" equivalent is covered. And being the most balanced, I cannot fathom their unique trait. Deffinitely not unorthodox in fleet desposition (Space Wolves). No hallmarks of superior technology from a more enlightened time. (Dark Angels). More restrained and less refined in butchering anything with their bare hands when their weapons get in the way of melée. (Blood Angels) Their might be one, and a gloriously dickish, exception for the Ultra-Smurfs to become (legitimately!) awesome: Hear me out. Plain gear and no perks like non favoured/marked fleets. So "lesser" in 1 on 1 with any less orthodox Chapters. But wait! There's more! Instead, they at periodically summon reinforcements: Successor Chapters owing fealty to Macragge - including it's 'normal' Imperial Navy equivalents. ... That would lead to a growing threat, and a unique mechanic. And terrifying if these units reflect their prior points cost/ unit's strength.

+7hart2 woah, someone got triggered. dreadnoughts are way too big to fight efficiently in the confined spaces of a voidship and they are usually situated ready in their drop pods or in the forge susspended in stasis untill the chapter needs them. and thunderhawks carry them underneath the craft so there is no way to deliver them into the target ship itself.

We've all had our fun making fun of the Dark Angels and their paranoia in keeping the Fallen a secret, but let's be fair to them here - the 41st-millenium Dark Angels, and all of the Unforgiven for that matter, are incredibly, fanatically loyal to the Emperor. They view the fact that a major faction of them in the Horus Heresy turned the Emperor as an unforgivable stigma against them (thus the name the Unforgiven) and seek to hide that shame from the rest of the Imperium. If the Dark Angels had come clean about the Fallen and the incident on Caliban back when it had happened, I really don't think the fallout of this would have been anywhere near as disastrous as they'd thought. _Everyone_ had traitors in their ranks back then, and in fact Guilliman actually took in loyalist factions of the Traitor Legions during the Horus Heresy and the Chapters that these factions turned into were written into history as successors of his own Legion to preserve their honor. This also would have gotten the Fallen captured and killed in much shorter order with the whole Imperium on the lookout for them.

Hmm, I saw chapter icons for the Ultramarines, Imperial Fists, Blood Angels, Dark Angels, and the Space Wolves. I wonder if your ships start out as Ultramarines as "default" and then you can "upgrade" them through favours to be one of the other space marine chapters?

Actually, it's not a bad idea. The Ultras and the Fists adhere closest to the Codex Astartes, and the other chapters are who start to specialize in certain areas. I have no idea if the Codex Astartes applies to battles in space though.

Anyone else think that they could implement specific successor chapters as some, like half of the favors? Like the Imperial Fists fleet could have Black Templar favor option and a Crimson Fists option, the Blood Angels could get Flesh Tearers and Blood Ravens favors, but the favors would reflect the specific chapter shown in the trailer, so Dark Angels could get successor chapter favors, and favor options for the Death wing or Ravening, you know, a combination of successor chapters and Chapter-specific organizations would be really interesting and awesome, if the developers have the time.

I actually think that the fallen would be a term for service men that have lost their life. Since as you die, you join the Emperor to wait for the final battle, or some such. Other option would be the people fallen to chaos or fallen from the emperors light, but AFAIK there is no redemption from that.
