The 3d blast markers and planets are all veary cool but I prefer the 2d ones. Even if they don't look as cool I really like how much more easy they are to manage when a ship flyes on top of them (which I do quite a lot). Whatever people end up preferring its great that all the PDFs and STLs for these can be found for free online.

@electricfan1085 yes, 100%, much easier to manage the 2d when there's loads of them. Play the best way you find I say.

Same. Doesn't look quite as cool, but much easier for gameplay. I do use 3D asteroids on a template base though. Base means you know the border of the field so you can move the asteroids out of the way for gameplay.

There’s actually two different versions of the Big Blue Book. The one that came in the box was the first version. Then another version with updated rules was printed and sold separately. You can tell the difference between them by checking for the Games Workshop Logo on the front cover. The main difference that stood out to me was an update to the Nova Cannon and Reload Ordinance rules. Nova cannons used scatter dice instead of guess range. Reload ordinance now doesn’t let a ship to have more small craft token on the table than it has launch bays.

Really, I never knew there was another book?! I thought the update to the nova cannon rules and ordinance was done in the FAQ in 2010 etc. I never remember them selling the book on its own, only the second yellow armada book. Interesting.

​@@turbidiousHe is correct GW released a new book in 2007. And a FAQ in 2007. You can find both the 1999 and 2007 version on the rules hub. Furthermore, the Nova Cannon and launch bay change already got introduced in 2002 annual as experimental rule and in FAQ2004 more or less designated as the new official rules.

To be clear, I don’t intend any of this as a criticism of your work. Your videos are excellent! Just wanted to share this bit so that your viewers might not get confused when they run across different versions of the BBB on EBay and such. The way I see it any rule set or version is great if that’s what your group has agreed to play.
