Kylo Ren's mask couldn't deceive me, I recognized Tsuda Kenjiro straight away (for those of you who think it's Dio's VA - it's not, Dio was voiced by Koyasu Takehito) also, pretty sure old Lando's VA is Sugita Tomokazu (who voiced young Joseph)

Okay as someone who knows Japanese... I’m getting conformation that Japanese Star Wars dubs are a super mixed bag. Particularly the heroic characters. Oh my god why is Obi-Wan so deep? He has this booming voice that has that “I FIGHT for Justice! Now onward, my companion!” Type energy. Also if Luke’s campaign appearance is any indication they also made Luke way more forceful and made him seem like that bishie cool guy who poses while bishie sparkles glitter around him. Actually, seemingly almost all the heroic male characters sound more brash in the Japanese dub for some reason. You’d think it would the reverse, I thought Japanese was a language more suited to subtlety, and knowing how speech patterns are utilized in anime a lot, I’m a bit disappointed. ...Then there’s Anakin whose usage of “boku” despite his personality I found kind of cute when I first read it in a fancomic, but then there’s his surprisingly high pitched voice. And the fact that his speech patterns are “softer” than Luke and Obi-Wan. It’s also kind of hilarious. Also with “Obi-Wan’s gonna kill me”, I can practically _see_ the bishie sparkles forming after he speaks and he inexplicably sounds like he’s being coy and/or pretending to be a girl. The body language does not help. Stop it Ani, you’re making me blush. Though I guess you can hear it more as “Oh no. This is gonna suck. Siigghhhh”, Which was probably the intent.
