Honestly never thought I'd miss the ee-3 but hands.down battlefront 1 had a better selection of guns. I understand the class weapons idea, battlefield does it too. Same guns become redundant and not fun. It was always a challenge to have the option to change to other guns we weren't great at. Like the ee 3 for me.

The Ovissian gunner’s weapon is the sentry. The Caphex spy’s gun is an existing weapon in terms of looks and sounds but its stats are completely different to the ones of the glie 44, so it’s really the other way around

Very good point about the spy's Glie, it is a complete rework of the stats. More of a slow hand cannon now.. Only reason I went with the rotary cannon is because in terms of default weapons, it is completely new. Sentry is an ability, and it may even be a different model than the Heavy's, because I think it makes a different sound. there's a higher-pitched rattling you don't hear in Sentry

Not what we meant when we asked for weapons but still, they couldve gave the commando droid an assault weapon. If it looks and performs different its a new weapon. Great take and very honest. the big bummer is just that these weapons are locked behind not only reinforcements, but eras too. Commando has a modified version of the Seppy Assault default, the E-5, but it does certainly perform better and has better overall stats

It's their stats too, and you dont get much variety when you only have 4 weapons/class. It's just getting stale at this point. Almost everyone uses the same weapons with the same mods, it boring. I want to see more weapons with more mods for each base class. This is DICE, the same Developers behind Battfield. BF4 ended up with 97(!) Weapons in total that you spawn with as a soldier. 114 if you count sidearm,knife, and a machete.

Just because theres only 4 guns doesnt mean they aren't varied. 4 guns can be very different. Do we need more? Yes. But it already has variety. take the officer. I forget what the first gun is lol cause those all suck. But then you have a rapid fire close range melter, a super strong semi auto requiring more accuracy but providing more range and with more recoil, and the blurg- a burst good from close to mid range. They all have different firing modes AND different stats. This applies to 3 of the classes, different firing modes and stats with significant change in playstyles. Only class that doesnt have much variety is heavy, but you even get more there once you get attachments with stuff like exploding shot and secondary fire

I'm glad that the default weapons are different for each faction, in fact, I wish all the weapons in the game were locked behind a specific era. Nothing confuses me more than playing as clone and getting shot by a clone weapon, as I know I'm fighting droids, and associate droid weapons with them. Don't even get me started on weapons crossing the eras. I'd prefer it if it was changed so that each class had a selection of weapons available to be picked for each era, for each faction, with no way for them to be cross compatible. That to me, would be a massive improvement.

It is strange that there arent any new weapons for the infantry but looking at the big picture we only use infantry to get points for better playable characters. Majority of my xp at the end of matches are from reinforcements and heroes. I think the game model of making full fleshed-out characters that have their own unique weapons connected to them is more entertaining and adds an immersive multiplayer experience that games like Overwatch and even the moba league of legends have gained massive positivity from

I like how the thumbnail shows a completely different Rotary blaster that looks like some prop guy glued an M60 to a minigun barrel. I mean, I'd use it, though the trigger is a little wonky. But I do like the Gunner, really fun to play as. I've noticed that the Gunner outright does more damage than the Heavy's Sentry, which is a real shame as 3 of the 4 Sentries are terrible while the explosive is good, but you can't move. Mobile sentry and Supercharged get depleted way to fast for them to be worth anything and base Sentry has so little damage it's more likely to get you killed than the enemy. If they did nerf the Gunner, I would say swap their damage with the Heavy's base Sentry, with perhaps a small decrease in damage.

The new Resistance reinforcements aren't very good. They are very weak in my opinion. The First Order have the better of the new reinforcements as they can actually go on killstreaks. The Resistance ones can not. I doubt anyone can survive using these ones. I don't get why everyone loves the Gunner. From the time I tried to play her, she is SO weak. I have no idea if I am being biased as I have only been playing the First Order in Co-Op and have only tried the Resistance ones once but I died pretty fast with them so yeah... I like the First Order reinforcements way better.

The first few minutes explain why everyone is frustrated about the 'new weapons' claim. It also outlines the fact that you cannot talk about these "new weapons" without talking about their tied reinforcement class. Therefore this video may as well describe the new reinforcements as without their weapons they are not that significant. But is my point clear here? The fact that a weapon is tied to a reinforcement makes its arrival only as significant as the reinforcement, and therefore not worthy of being mentioned completely separately. Quite simply, no new base infantry weapons since launch have been released and everyone since launch has been using these exact same weapons. So I suppose the point that I'm brewing to is that using the although true fact that reinforcement class addition does bring new weapons is an outrageous diversion from the lack of creativity in the infantry weapon category. It's a childish and insulting deflection away from what should have been an urgent point of focus since launch. Don't take this as saying that I haven't appreciated all the new reinforcements that have been added to the game, I think that they are very creative and fun to play as. Just don't use them as an excuse.

The demand however has always been specifically "infantry weapons", which you said yourself we would all appreciate. Obi-Wan claimed that Luke's father was dead because Vader had killed him, and that the honest man that he once knew had forever been destroyed. I think that this was disproved by Luke who sensed that not all was lost, and in the end it was Vader who fulfilled the prophecy of the chosen one. In this instance, we have been told we have been given new weapons, not infantry weapons, and it feels that we are now expected to be Luke and hope for them to still be on the agenda. The question here is whether or not we can put faith in the release of new infantry weapons to satisfy the demand, and not the promise, which are too easily confused. It has been nearly three years after all. I have faith that the developers will satisfy the demand, but it has been this long with no indication as to any sort of progress on it, but instead comments on far more insignificant details like menu changes and an emote wheel. My position as an optimist is that things can still change, but here and now, it would be nice to know something about when it will rather than blind faith. I think we need Vader (the developers) to kill the Emperor (the demand) by saving Luke (the faith). Just that would be enough, no teases, no evasive Twitter comments, just a straight Yes and how or No and why.
