Welcome to another Breakthrough Assault unboxing video as Lee takes a look at the new S Tank Platoon unit box from, and kindly provided by, Battlefront for their WW3:Team Yankee "Cold War Gone Hot" game's new sourcebook "Nordic Forces".
We've taken a detailed look at the new book and the forces inside in the web article here (www.breakthroughassault.co.uk) but Lee takes a look at the box contents and an assembled model in detail.

Great video. One thing I’m interested to know is- how possible does it look to build the tank to completion, except for the tracks (and hence have them slide in from underneath, Possibly magnetised). I love the idea of having the option of the hull-down tracks but a tank fitted with them is going to look silly most of the time, and I’m not cash or time rich enough to consider building spares…

Thanks and good question! The tracks only attach to the lower hull so, on the face of it, it looks doable. The only thing I'd worry about is the bulldozer blade stopping the tracks descending as the front idler tucks up behind it. Magnetising the blade is doable if it does need to be removed.

It should work with the dozer blade attached. The side skirts may prove more troublesome, since they are attached to the tracks. I still have some more s tanks to build, I'll leave of the tracks and let you know, if I can slide them in.

So here's what i found: Like Lee guessed the dozer is in the way of the tracks, when you would slide them in. But on the other hand, the side skirts are absolutely no problem. Add a magnet to the hull (above the tracks - some drilling might be required depending on the magnets used) and to the top of the track, the magnets should be hidden behind the sideskirts. A single magnet should be enough, since the dozer and keying should hold the track in place. The dozerblade should be easy, as well, the part is keyed and you have some room in the hull front to fit some magnets in there.

I would consider Sweden being one of the more successful arms exporters. Looking at the value of exported goods they are in the top 20 nations world wide (or top 5 per capita). I will ignore "smaller" weapon systems here (but they will make up a considerable part - just think Bofors, Hägglunds, Carl Gustafs stads gevärsfaktori) Saab 35 Draken (3 countries, at least a limited success) JAS 39 Gripen (5 countries**) Bv 202 (8+ countries*) Bv 206 (10+ countries*) Cv90 (9 countries) Combat Boat 90 (7 countries**) *i used wiki as a source and i know at least Germany was missing on the 202 list ** ongoing examination by other countries Tank wise there was not much to sell , Sweden used very obsolete vehicles for a long time. Vehicles like the stridsvagn m/42 remained in service until the 1980s upgraded to the Stridsvagn 74. The Pbv 301 was based on the Stridsvagn m/41, a swedish built TNH tank (see Pz 38(t)). It wasnt before the 1960s the Swedes started building tanks again, like the Ikv 91 & Pbv 302 family and both stayed in service into the 2000s. Speaking of the Ikv 91, the Ikv 91-105 was together with the Sk60 one of those failed projects, that were aimed for export. BUT in the Team Yankee time line, the Ikv 91-105 is something that would have most likely been adopted, since it was one of the projects that were fully developed in the mid 80, but were never adopted due to the influx of the cheap Leopard 2A4s.

Yeah, that's fair. I'd argue the Gripen has been underwhelming as an export success (took too long to get the 'E' version out and now its having to face F-35 and a boat-load of second-hand F-16 from new F-35 users). CV90 and the Bv's are a big success so you are right that I was being harsh.
