A fine return of the BG battle reports, look forward to more soon. Not scattering timed barrages is something I usually forget too.

We always forgot about those Timed Barrage rules. It's not as big of a deal when Vin's scatter on top of his own units though :)

Have you thought about doing the Desert War. Plenty of options with Brits, Yanks, Germans and Italians.
@TheAcceptableCasualties4 жыл бұрын
We're discussing that now. I want to build up an Italian force but I still need to talk Vin into covering his half of the bargain. He seems to be pushing for Early War French or Winter War Fins. I might need to pull my "Big Brother" card on this one :)
@techsaint4 жыл бұрын
The Acceptable Casualties The Winter War is just Finns versus Russians. Whilst the Desert War has more scope.

Just to remind you in battlegroupe rules timed barrage don't scatter they come with a pre-registered target point.

Great rep guys eager to see more of those Commies in action! you are back just as me and my friend are starting playing BG more seriously, so great timing there! We are starting in Normandy and eventually we will make our way to Russia 42-43 since we have decided to split a Russian army at some point in the future 😄
@TheAcceptableCasualties4 жыл бұрын
Awesome. What armies do you guys play now? We'll be jumping around between all eras of the war on the Eastern front.
@tommasomartini98724 жыл бұрын
@@TheAcceptableCasualties I have got US ( building an armoured plat almost complete) and Panzergrenadier (2 full inf platoons and Stugs for days) , my friend he has a bunch of Brits and SS so we can cover basically every theatre and we can interchange. We just need the Russians now! Glad you will be covering Eastern Front

Any plans for Northag? I just played and really liked what they've done, and now I have a good game to play with my Team Yankee mondels :}
@TheAcceptableCasualties4 жыл бұрын
I probably won't dip into cold war / moderns anytime soon. How are you liking Northag compared to Team Yankee?
@scottmellon45494 жыл бұрын
@@TheAcceptableCasualties No comparison. I bought into Team Yankee because I really liked the models. Team Yankee seems to some how be a complicated beer and pretzels game. Northag manages to take BG and bring it to a larger scale without losing the game play, and adding some really interesting elements. The staggered arrival of your units really makes you think about your list, more than BG I think. And the accelerated chit pull really brings the tension on fast.

Ive been doing more rules writing than actual gaming. Im trying to flip that script :)
@guythomas70512 жыл бұрын
I haven't come across these rules before but i lost interest when they said a tank had been "pinned" what exactly is that simulating ? how do you pin a tank, yes infantry can be pinned own (forced to cower in fear " but how are a tank crew pinned - if you are in atank being shot at you move - you don't cower down in fear, sorry that's just too "gamey" for my taste.
@TheAcceptableCasualties2 жыл бұрын
I think they use the term "Pinned" for consistencies sake when it comes to the rules writing. My guess is that it could be just another way to say the tank crew has been shell shocked by an incoming shell or a grenade going off in/near the turret.

Have you played chain of command? And if you have how do you think it compares to Battle group?
@TheAcceptableCasualties4 жыл бұрын
Ive only played CoC twice and I had a good time playing it but I prefer the BG mechanics. I wasn't a big fan of the assault phase or armored combat for CoC but I loved how they handled deployment before the game starts. I wouldn't feel right comparing the two due to my limited experience with CoC.

How’d you guys find it playing with individual figures vs group stands?
@TheAcceptableCasualties4 жыл бұрын
Visually I prefer playing with individual stands, I think it looks a lot better on the table. From an actual quality of life perspective I think the individual basing works well for small platoon sized games in 15mm but once it gets to company sized and bigger it can get a bit annoying moving 100 soviets across the table for an URA! charge :)
@WARdROBEPlaysWWII4 жыл бұрын
That road! : )

Ive tried multiple combinations of that road set and there is no getting away from it if I use that "end" piece :)
