As real as everything has been for a long time in this show, this one is just so hard. Callie was already struggling so much, and she had been such a feisty, awesome character even in the sidelines. This one broke my heart and ooooh Tory, I'm mad! Also, stealing the can of worms line haha

She was the picture of optimism and innocence in the beginning to and her downward spiral was truly tragic.

​@@CasualNerdReactions my theory: She has been on a downward spiral since she shot Boomer. Also, Tyrol has been, at the very least subconsciously, hating her for it since the day it happened. Let's revisit that soon. 😉

Hey, you wanted Callie's situation to change by the end of the episode, and it sure did. She was definitely going to airlock herself and her kid. At least Tory saved the kid. The murder on her part was tactical, Callie was clearly unstable, and could've exposed them at any time. On the other hand, murder is murder. I understand Tory's motivations, without agreeing with them. And the Cylon civil war is over here, essentially. The Ones (Cavil), Fours (Simon) and Fives (Doral) won. And the majority of the Twos (Leoben), Sixes and Eights (Sharon) have been wiped out. It was done outside of resurrection range, unlike the Threes (D'Anna) who were just boxed and put in storage, all those individual Cylons are dead forever. As an independent conflict, the rebellion is over, and now Cavil is in control of the Cylon fleet.

When life gives you lemons, make Lemonade. As it was with the actor who played Billy, the actress who plays Calli wanted off the show. The Producers obliged and the writers went to work. In both cases they wrote epic character endings with so much emotional import their deaths feel as if they were planned all along. Maybe the hand of the one true God really wanted this show to be done just right??? -Bottom line, saying you aren't going to be available for a recurring series is dangerous to a character's health and well being. At least in this case it works out for the better. The same cannot be said for Wash in Serenity! I don't care if the actor wasn't going to be available.... YOU. CANNOT. KILL. WASH.... and expect me to like it. ( Apologies if that's a spoiler for anyone. ) Awesome reaction, Chris.

@@CasualNerdReactionsYes. Of all the idiot reasons to kill off a character. The producers of Firefly/Serenity were certain in their own minds that they were going to find backers to continue moving forward, in movie form or TV. But the actor who played Wash was unwilling to commit to vague plans, ( or had made commitments of his own?... memory fails me. ) Anyway, they were sure they would have to move on without him. And rather than having to explain his absence off screen in a future iteration, they decided to wrap up his character arc in Serenity by killing him. (Also claiming the usual claim that the character's death lends "weight" to the drama as a whole.) So Wash was gone. None of the future projects panned out. And we are left with his death in the movie - in my mind - for no good reason. It will forever piss me off.

I mean, if you want to be reeeeeal nerdy, technically, the Cylons DID hatch from eggs, in the original series- the ORIGINAL Cylons, who made the robotic Cylons, were Reptiles- granted, we didn't get a whole lot of the extinct originator Cylons life cycle, but hatching from eggs is a fair bet.

Rosalind is the perfect example of what happens when someone with very good intentions loses their sense of morality. She was all about doing the "right" thing early - eg wanting to stay and search for survivors even at the risk of her own life. Sadly, the combination of the power *and* when she lost said power only for others to use it in self serving ways has made her into the very type of tyrant she would have opposed. It's really easy to sympathize with her. Doesn't make her right in this.

You probably already know this, but did you know that Richard Hatch was the actor who played Apollo in the original Battlestar in the 70's? Yup. Great actor.

To be fair, they all rub me the wrong way politically. Rosalin is out there, Zarek brought Roslin's power trip to Lee's attention because he wants that stroll for himself, Lee tends to put his virtues ahead of others' well being, Adama risked the entire human race's life countless times for his own loved ones, the other political heads live in la la land, and everybody is keeping crucial info from everyone. It's Bedlam in a suit and tie. I thought it was a little too late for the show to finally adress this and poorly too. Through Lee's eyes, really?? I expected the common folk to riot all the way back in early season one, if not the mini series.

Tori did nothing wrong or "evil." Callie was on the verge of killing herself and her baby and if Tori had let her go she would still have ratted out the Final Four to Adama. It was just self preservation, what was she supposed to do, just hope Adama doesn't flush them out of an airlock next?

Boomer and her Daddy issues.... Ewww. Tori is beech, I don't know anyone who likes her. This just cast that in steel. When you were hoping Callie's condition would change, I was cackling. As for terror of Rosalyn and her proposed judicial system.... Remember the old saying about seeing the sausage made- this show is set in a sausage shop. Every political theme has only had 20 years to age in the cask, like brandy or scotch.
