Interesting to note- because “Yamato” is an archaic name for Japan, the sinking of the battleship Yamato is often interpreted as the symbolic end of the Japanese Empire

As much as I want to know what happens if you complete the mission, failing it is actually accurate. Yamato fought to the bitter end until it sank.

Description Fixing: "The last flagship of the Japanese navy, Yamato, and her escorts are now sailing toward the island of Okimawa for her final mission. Okinawa is now under attack by the American navy and its fleet is getting dangerously close to the shore. With almost no air force and no navy, the Japan high command has decide to launch the most daring naval operation ever launch by IJN. Codenamed "Tengo Sakusen" an operation to beach the Yamato and turn her into an unsinkable ans indestructable fortress. But this mission will not be easy as more than 300 aircrafts are dispatched to sink her." Mission Objectives 1. Yamato must survive the battle. 2. Yamato must reach the destination. 3. Annihilate the Invasion Fleet.

In particular, I would recommend for the mission The Final Battle of Yamato I would make 1 Yamato-class battleship, 1 Kuma-class light cruiser and 7 Fubuki-class destroyers do: 1) 1 or 2 Super Yamato battleships, 2) 4 or 5 Yamato-class battleships, 3) 4 Kongo-class battleships, 4) 2 Fuso-class battleships, 5) 2 Nagato-class battleships, 6) 2 Ise-class battleships, 7) Carriers Akaga, Kaga, Soryu-class carriers, Shokaku-class carriers, Hinyu-class carriers, Taiho carriers, Unryu-class carriers, Ibuki-class carriers, Taiyo-class carriers, Kaiyo-class carriers, Shinyo-class carriers, Shimane Maru-class carriers, Akitse Maru-class carriers , Yamashio Maru type and Kumane Maru type, - not to mention heavy cruisers, light cruisers, destroyers and submarines of all types. And after conquering the island, unlock the mega airport with the shipyard. And the opponent would be the entire American fleet + the support of the local Royal Navy.

Why had the Yamato the old layout? After sinking musashi the big secondarier were traded into smaller AA guns

This is the only model that is in the game. If I ever get around to being able to do so, I am planning on adding the 1945 version.

Actually, the 155mm guns were swapped even before battle of Leyte and sinking of Musashi - though not fully, Musashi was also refitted with smaller caliber AA guns instead of secondary 155mm turrets

Yeah, this is the 1942 version of Yamato.

I've tried this mission myself and my god its brutal, can you even complete this mission?

I doubt it. There have been some who have gotten close. But even if it was possible I think it would be like Samar where the mission would not end.

@@titusseptim Made a discovery there are enemy US ships on the map at the far left, I got two destroyers over there and actually was on the cord G2 before I died. I got pretty close to the island. The best thing i can tell you is that you must go for the torpedo bombers first and man the AA guns and have screen ships swarm around you, they pretty much soak up the damage, Its damn near impossible though to do but its slightly do able. Its a suicide mission and which it pretty much was

Yamato in 1942 form. 1944/45 model was never put in game.

Why does yamato have less anti-aircraft gun?

The model is the 1942 version which is the only one in the game. I am planning on sometime down the road to add in new units and 1945 version of Yamato is one of them.

The makers of this mod wanted to go on the realism side. In real life over 300 aircraft attacked Yamato.

@@kevin002ctax9 hmm, sounds like something somewhere got corrupted. The only thing I know to do is to uninstall then reinstall the mod. If that doesn't work then you need to uninstall and delete the mod then redownload the mod.

@@titusseptim Other missions also fail. I have played in Pearl Harbor and other missions, but the Yamato one does not work for me, I may not have installed something? as separate music or files?
