I so hope this will eventually get a spiritual succesor. My dream is a semi-realistic naval and air simulation (with fast forwarding) with a 4x strategic map + a base builder (and maybe a ship designer?).

The B-29 is one of my personal favourite American bombers along with the B-17. The B-29 is famous for when two of them "Enola Gay" and "Bock's Car" dropped the two atomic bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Also it's responsible for the firestorm bombings of Tokyo and several other Japanese cities.

Task Force 54 is actually an Royal Navy Task Force. It includes the fleet carriers Illustrious, Formidable, Indomitable, battleships King George V, Duke of York, Howe and even the French battleship Richelieu and several heavy and light cruisers and destroyers as escorts.

The Hero of Guadalcanal and Medal of Honor recipient Gunnery Sargent John Basilone was killed in action on Iwo Jima and now there is an US Navy Arleigh Burke class guided missile destroyer named after him.

​​​​@@titusseptim. Me too. Best mini-series along with Band of Brothers. As for John Basilone there's an US Navy Arleigh Burke guided missile destroyer named after him the USS John Basilone (DDG-122). May his heroic spirit be with the ship that bears his name in his honour.

Thanks. As for where to find the game, it’s a bit complicated. There’s not many places left to buy it. Amazon but they are a bit expensive. This website is pretty cheap though I don’t know the legitimacy of it: www.gamestop.com/video-games/products/battlestations-pacific/525001.html?condition=Digital. Beyond that most just pirate it.
