I kinda love this derpy little tank, but I'm a sucker for ACs. I love how well it 'feels' like a defensive unit that would be garrisoned at bases: The AMS, long range weapons, super slow speed, and looking like a redeployable turret gives it a very distinct vibe.

Yes its a good garrison style defense type of tank, with its slow speed you don't get anywhere very fast.

The one thing it needs is to have an AA quirk. Still, would be a good use for heavy vehicle bays on a dropship looking to set up a long term presence. Set up a strong defensive perimeter in the initial landing.

That's what I believe the primary use if for with the Clans in the game, when you don't need to go very far to engage the enemy

The Ishtar looks like a tractor in my eyes. They just put the seats on the wrong end. Leave it to the clans to over engineer a John Dear. It has been ok for me as a tank, and I mostly consider it as a mech support vehicle. Never played with standard tank. I have mostly played the Ishtar Original variant. The tanks higher speed gets it into a position, keep up with the line, and keep its frontal armor forwards. I never fired that UAC at double rate due to game costing jams. Just used the UAC for the extra range and when the ammo runs low start firing at double rate. The Gauss variant could do good work with that HAG. But at 2K BV with a 3/5 crew that’s costly for fire support. Considering the use is to support mechs. I should pick the Gauss variant more often, but many games never had the BV to devote to it. I know that the lore calls this vehicle a garrison vehicle, but I have never played it that way. I consider the Ishtar for all-wheeled lines. Depending on your choice of taking a left or a right to get to the beach.

It's one of the vehicles that has an old school looks to it that belongs in the 1920's or something. The HAG & Gauss Rifle version is a good way to go other than the extra cost in BV, I don't like using UAC and would prefer to have a LBX instead for the cluster potential. The BV of a good crew is a limiting factor as it costs you potentially more vehicles on the battlefield
