I use the chameleon alot in narrative games as a militia mech, and play some tricks on my players with its capacity to look like something else, I remember one time I ran them up against one that looked like a battle master and they thought they where about to get all kinds of good salvage only to get a wrecked chameleon.

Remember the Chameleon vaguely from Crescent Hawk's Interception. Pretty solid as far as a light starting mech goes, but I did prefer the bigger 'oomph' of the Wasp. Would really love to play such a low-key Battletech game again, honestly. Don't think it had anything over a medium, and it made infantry actually a genuine threat at times.

Yeah, I also believe these guys are more like heavy lights than proper medium mechs, lol.

@@GrimDarkNarrator Makes sense, though. You want something rugged but not *too* armed for new recruits. Something that won't break if they run into a wall, but that won't melt trough the entire HQ if they miss-fire either.

Back when I played BT, I would occasionally see a Crockett used and I came to never underestimate it's potency. As for the Chameleon, that was the first mech I was given when I got into to BT, they say I wasn't going to last long and true to fact, you can only hold out for so long in a training mech!!

To be honest, you really don't see either one of these very much in Universe. I've seen both in the novel's, but they are both pretty rare in them. As for the table top, most players use the more common mechs. I have fought against 1 Chameleon in Rogue tech. Haven't seen a Crockett yet.

Feel like battlemechs are Sumer like 40K style of warfare Wells my opinion Fisheries Universe don't have no connection at all
