Life in the Confederation still seems to be a combination of what I know of China's historic culture and the governance behaviour of the so-called cult of control that has held Beijing in its grip for the past century or so. Less of a martial grip upon the softer, more civic-domestic aspects of living within this system, but an iron grip of “father second, emperor first” management. What a, perhaps '80s optimistic, FASA fantasy, though: Capellan consumer home electronics producers manufacturing “quality” over “quantity”... Apparently a corollary of elitist ego, logic and philosophy of practicality. The Commune Court...indeed. That de-sensitization of such as paralleled through real-world spread of “communities.” Since state methods of execution remain as expedient and viable as thousands of years before on Earth, I wonder if the executions are televised. I still find traditional Chinese and even overall Oriental fashion and design, as displayed by some of the nobility and ranking class here, to be some of the most ornate, exotic and outstanding. Gratitude, comrade Narrator, for expounding upon this functional and efficient society; glory of the Celestial Wisdom be upon the Chancellor. And so on. The confirmation or revelation of multiple societal aspects was as interesting to me as ever with this universe. 'Til your return to the spaceaves, have a great and healthy week, GDN.

Think there's been almost 2 hours of battletech content that's been released in the past 24 hours! What a time to be alive.

"Indoctrination" you mean the same things that ALL of the ruling factions in Battletech do to their citizens. You can't just single out 1 and ignore the rest of them.

Yeah, but these guys had more focus on this aspect than any of the other, in their respective books.

I always stand firmly against thought police... but then I watch what happened in USA without ANY policing of taught... and then I watch how all the policing in any authoritarian countries fail to extinguish people's desire for freedom... humans are weird, when you give them freedom, they give it away for protection, when you give them protection, they will fight you back to get their freedom... i wished for so many things in life, being in charge of other humanses was never among my fantasies 😅
