It's not dead! There are still ways to play :) I just picked the Battletech CCG back up this year after a two plus decade break and am loving it. So much so that I produced a two part podcast talking in depth about the game, everything from history, design, legacy, gameplay, deckbuilding, to meta analysis. We also talked about the best ways to connect with the community to play online, no purchasing necessary. Thanks for bringing CCG up. I like the play zones deck, support and battlefield. Mechanics of jumping, overheating, weight of the 'Mechs are cleverly implemented into the game. Artwork is incredible. I have a soft spot for dead CCGs and I play from time to time. And it is not hard to find pdfs with the scans of at least some of the cards, print it, glue to MtG commons and play some Battletech.

Battletech TCG was loads of fun to play, just never really got a big base of fans. I still have my old collection and now my son has discovered it, so many years later. Great game. My Black Knight/vehicle deck was brutal back in the day, won a tournament with it. Memories...

I learned to play MtG and Warhammer 40k at a Wizards store. Left to the army and when I came back the store was gone. Had some great memories in that place.

I'm a BattleTech fan from way back in the late 80s still have all the books but don't really play the board game much anymore, I never even knew this game existed.

I'd like to point out that Peter Sundholm winning with a Wolf Deck wasn't really an out of nowhere thing. He was just one of many who had hopped on the "Fast Clan" metagame as the game had grown to revolve around fast mechs and, at that point in time, majority of the most effective fast mechs were clan ones like Dasher Ds or Fenris Primes.

It did make it to Europe....at least in Greece...but it was not popular.... everyone preferred magic the gathering at the time...

I still have some cards for this one. Enough cards to either make Steiner deck or Jade Falcon deck. Too bad most of my clan cards are really high resource cost.

The game declined heavily when they released vehicles so efficient they took over the metagame and made the very mechs the game was built around obsolete.
