Battletoads in Battlemaniacs (Co-op Mode-A Speedrun) (2nd Place Record

This is a new speedrun that obsoletes our previous world record from a few days ago. This was recorded on real hardware, an SNES Model 2, using a RetroTink 2X Pro and an Avermedia LGX.
The players in this speedrun are:
LionRGC (Pimple) and JoellN64 (Rash).

AWESOME job to both of you. This is the first Co-Op run I've seen for the game. For now, I've yet to beat this game, but hopefully, that will change soon. Keep up the gaming.

I beat this game yesterday. Honestly, all I had to do was learn the first 4 stages and the last 3 I just clutched them with the lives I had, dying and learning the patterns. Seriously, the furthest I made it before beating the game was the snake stage, and the next run I beat it? Damn! But of course, this is just insane cooperative action, I couldn’t imagine me even finding someone with the same skill level as me to do something like this, let alone have the patience for me AND them to learn every single little thing! Congratulations, you highly deserve it!

Haha it must of took us over 160 tries and we still messed up a bit during the run. But we kept at it, never gave up.

3:10 how did you one shot the pig or was it some glitch because rash was underneath him? Edit: and the bitch at the end in one. Impressive

It is more of an exploit with the Big Boot finisher attack and the fact that you can hurt each other in Game Mode-A. For the first pig boss, one of you must be laying on the floor so that you can run up and do the Big Boot on them. We time it so that the Pig lands in-between, and the pig will take the hit instead (which is why you see me hit my partner to the ground, and then run up and big boot). For the Queen, since it is not a stage where you can move up/down (only left/right), one of you can just hold down to duck and the other initiates a Big Boot on the player while also making sure the Queen is in-between both players. Ducking counts as laying down for some reason. The Big Boot is always a one hit kill move on any enemy if you can pull it off on them, but it only allows you to do it when the enemy is stunned laying on the floor (or if you do the exploit like explained).

I think Bonus Stage is the stage that must use ability too. But all clip I ever watched people mindless to play that stage.

There is a universal cheat code for all Battletoads games. Press and hold down A, B, and Down (on D-Pad) while pressing start during the title screen opening. If done correctly, the screen with the Battletoads in Battlemaniacs flag waving around will flash RED. This red flash indicates that you have done it right. You can see it at 0:18 in the video. Also, you only get 9 lives/5 continues in the Japanese version of the game. The USA version of the cheat will only give you 5 lives/5 continues.

when i use the chat code i only get 5 lifes. Is it ecause you have a japanese version?

@@warden2242 You have to do it each time you first start up the game. If you lose all your lives and get a game over, then if you press Continue, you do NOT have to do the cheat again. (But in the NES Battletoads you MUST do it again if you press continue).

@@warden2242 That's correct. We are playing the Japanese version because you save a bit of time during the cutscenes and ending, as the text scrolls by faster.

Sounds even worse considering if they were any other color you wouldn't have said anything, which means you think anything black always has to be portrayed in a positive light.
