I actually prefer when Melth can fully strategise to the fullest. It’s still interesting like this, but the great thing about this series is seeing how good forplanning can render almost every encounter into a straightforward win

I enjoy a mix of both too I think. Certainly battles where not everything goes according to plan give me a chance to talk about adapting one's strategy. I think what bugged me in this case was mostly that I had to play very inefficiently just to get the enemies to actually fight me (wasting Karlach's whole turn just running around aggroing people, etc.) That's less a curveball from the game and more me having to change teams for a minute to throw a curveball to myself because the game failed to do so

I've always loved doing all the moonrise fights. as a more casual player, I've had a lot of fun when meeting Zrell and her welcoming party and using my casters to put down a ton of AOE spells on top of the very conviniently grouped enemies and then using my martials to keep them in

Even though the game kinda bugged, I thought it was really interesting seeing you figure your way out that situation. Also that turn with Karlach, running around Moonrise for like 150 meters in 1 turn, I thought that was so funny 😂

I can't tell if you were deliberately confusing Acolyte and Adept the entire time or playing it up for the commentary, but I chuckled every time you called an Adept Acolyte ^^ Love the series!

(Only read further if you care for me being a stickler:) WeLl aCtuALly you say you don't care whether it is Adept or Acolyte 24:27, correct yourself at 31:40 and then keep calling Mola an acolyte at 34:05,34:28 and 36:56. at 36:56 was the reason I left the first comment, because I laughed out loud after you had already corrected yourself, moused over her name the round before with the wind elemental, took a moment to recall her name-I was sure you were gonna call her adept this time- and then call her acolyte anyway. Actual comedy gold Of course this all doesnt't matter, I don't know why I even noticed that.

One of my favorite fights in the game, sad that Minthara screwed up the positioning 😅 I lost my honor run to the faith-leap trial in shar’s gauntlet yesterday due to misclicking and jumping to my death. Sad to see it go, but now maybe I can begin making a proper character build based off of your Astarian build! Happy Holidays Melth!

I've done a min-max xp run not that long ago, and the best reasoning for killing all the harpers in lastlight is just straight up xp. If you kill them, you will be level 11 by the end of the monk encounter (which I consider the end of act 2, not the start of act 3)

@@Gameman5252-e2r I'm level 11 without killing the Harpers and without several other things I couldn't justify from an RP perspective though. I think killing the Harpers would have got me to 11 before Myrkul

Great video, I highly recommend you make a series on Dvinity Original Sin 2. It’s a Larian game that in my opinion requires even more strategy than bg3

I suppose the reason why Guardians of Faith take 20 seconds to finally decide to pass their turn is because they technically CAN move, it's just that you have to apply a buff to them like Longstrider (+10 feet) or Aspect of the Elk Aura (+5 feet) before they actually can -- so they spend 20 seconds trying to move with their 0 movespeed before giving up and passing their turn.

That's an interesting thought! Though I think it would be pretty easy programming to just have an if/then with any unit with 0 move bypassing any further calculations about where to go
