I drove those Renault D series trucks as a box truck for over a year. I do not miss them, they are awful to drive. That struggle with the gear box I'm glad to see that it's on every one of those and not just mine. Cheers, great to look at these old vids and be reminded that I'm moving on to better material

And what is it your modelling Kev? I enjoyed the journey around Southampton. Used to deliver for a firm called Railex who made office filing cabinets etc out of Southport. We would get loaded on a Monday morning and be out for the week delivering to offices, companies and government offices around Britain, even delivered to Downing St, to the chancellors house / office. Was a great lifestyle, and watching you driving really brings back so many great memories. That was in the days of the log book and early days on the tachometer, putting a new card in every day with 10 1/2 driving days . Keep up the good work, your obviously enjoying your days now compared to your artic days.

Yep, i did a morning on a dust cart as a agency driver for our local council. I left after a few hours, the agency told me they wanted a driver, not a Driver/loader. Wouldnt have minded helping with the big Euro bins etc, but there was only 2 of us when there should have been 4, 3 minimum.

Hi kev, I'm new to your Vlogs and im really enjoying them, having a few late nights/ early mornings catching up with things you did in your artic and some of the tight spots you got into, reminds me of my days on the road driving a 7.5t lorry smaller yes but still sent me to some very silly places that a transit van would of had trouble getting down, thanks again from Rural East Yorkshire near Hull.

Gotta love surburban residential streets - nice driving! Back to work myself tomorrow - baling and delivering hay. Unfortunately my lorry is not as posh as yours (it's a 18t 1998 iveco tipper) but she gets the job done and it'll be good to get back on the road after nearly 8 weeks locked up. Keep up the great vids - greetings again from Spain 👍

I like what your doing now, some locations are really challenging and each pick up presents it's own problem. Also it's not like tipper work where you do the same thing on the same roads over and over. Also it's not local work all the time either, you get around seeing different places. The thing you might get fed up with is how some people park, well not so much park, dumped might be a better term.

It's all about the local multi-drop and tight road driving. I do multi drop in an urban trailer artic to small businesses and the odd house. it's the kind of driving that keeps your head on a swivel and your brains working. I did long distance work for 4 months and couldn't stand the boredom. Still got a sleeper cab though need a comfy nap every now and then. Shame you have a Renault D cab. It is so basic it's an insult. Their T range is my favourite motor.
