A great interview. Really good to hear from Simon Tracey and it is a long time since there were many players who stayed at a club for 15 years. I was pleased to hear that he enjoyed his time with United and that he is still enjoying his time living in Sheffield. He spoke about his local club, Charlton Athletic and Derek Hales. I remember him. He was a prolific goal scorer for them. He had two spells there. During his first spell, there was also Mick Flanagan and Arthur Horsfield. They weren't as prolific as Hales, but their goal scoring was still not too shabby. As far as his great saves go, there were quite a few. My favourite was one that came towards the end of the game against Wednesday at Bramall Lane in the 2001-2 season. So, it was in early 2002. The final score was 0-0, but we had been the stronger side throughout the game and in the second half we did get the ball in the net (was it Asaba, or was he the one who crossed it?), but it was ruled out for offside. We never really looked like we were going to concede until very late. Wednesday got a corner (Bramall Lane end) and I think it was Sibon got on the end of it. Tracey had what seemed like a nanosecond to react and managed to pull off a great diving save to his right. I know he has pulled of saves that are just as good or maybe better. But this was against Wednesday, so as far as I'm concerned it trumps the lot!😊 I never realised we signed him for a total of £12,500. That puts him up there with Tony Currie for being one of the best value signings we ever made.

I'll always remember that double save against the pigs, and a dejected and disbelieving Nigel Jemson brushed his leg on him as he walked past him. 😂

Brilliant guys love these we get to hear so much the Carl Asaba story still made me laugh even though i heard it on Carls podcast I know you may have tried but we would love Kozzy to make an appearance , remember Warnock telling him flaming hell Kozzy gotta be good to wear them boots Kozzy replied shall i take them off then Nice to know like so many former players Simon still lives in Sheffield and no sign of grumpy Simon says Great job guys

Good keeper, Unfortunately I remember his loan appearances with Man City , A great signing for Sir Dave along many others Him & Alan Kelly 2 great keepers for our club

I’m not quite old enough to remember Simon playing for the Blades. Might have seen him play once. What I do remember is that my mum, who normally shows vanishingly little interest in football, was always keen to tell us that she thought he had a lovely bum. Probably my weirdest blades player-related memory 😂

Been a Blade 53 years but sorry I've got to say many years ago for no reason Tracey offered my mate out purely because he was a palace fan yes their was history at wembley but that was it I was gob smacked at his behaviour, has a goal keeper brilliant has a person thought he was Rocky 🤣⚔️

It was a fookin travesty crime that that welsh get rushy stop Simon getting that England call up he deserved and that shirt was the biggest selling in England 2nd to the England shirt and working for Brentford the wonna be Sheff Utd seeing as they play in the same kit and formed in 1889 a few months after us ⚔️⚔️
